I never owned any of the GTA games growing up, as my parents didn't want me owning 18-rated games when I was 13-odd (I don't know the exact age, but whatever). I was 18 by the time 4 came out, but wasn't hyped about it, because I never really played the previous games.
However, I knew the games weren't shit, and I saw 'em for a fiver on the Steam sale, thought I might aswell go for it. All I've played so far is GTA III, and IV. III has aged terribly. But my main beef is with GTA IV PC.
1 - Driving with both the keyboard and mouse isn't intuitive. Why can't the camera be in a fixed position like it was in GTA III? Is there any way to do this in the settings (I can't find anything).
2 (and most importantly) - I bought this game on Steam. Why do I need Games For Windows Live to play it? Also, I need to sign up and login for some Social Club to play online. Basically, to play this game I need to be signed into 3 services. I'm never going to play it online, but I still need to be signed into steam to play the game, and signed into GfWL to save it (which it didn't tell me about until the first time I wanted to save the game - and because I didn't have the GfW client, I had to exit out, and play the first couple of missions again). This all just seems like overkill, especially because if I were to pirate this game, I wouldn't have any of these hassles.
I suppose earning achievements for my live account is a bonus, but I couldn't give a rats arse about my gamerscore.
