I swear by the CTA 3DS grip. It feels amazing in my hands and gives the 3DS some familiar bulk. I was totally unaware that there was a version with a built in battery. I'm gonna order it from Amazon, now!

Thanks, Miz!

My only complain is the Circle Pad, as you said, it slips easily. Aside from that, everything is fine for me, but that could be because I've been playing handhelds for years that my hands are accustomed to little buttons and my eyes to little screens. I find myself in trouble everytime I try to play home console games, not that it's difficult, but it takes me more time to get accustomed in the control and gameplay mechanics than when playing a handheld game.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

Hold Y to win. At least, that's from the first 2 tracks of mushroom cup.

Also, what's up with the box? It seems they didn't bother designing the box at all. The manuals are bare minimum. Whatever happen to the usual booklet with nice arts?
And the holes inside the box...

It's like they didn't even try with the packaging.

The industry is "going green" aka "cutting costs".  Tons of games are doing that, now.  Even WWE 12, with its extensive moves list only came with a single fold out.  For anything else, you have to go read the online manual.  At least, for 3DS games (and some PSP games), all you have to do is highlight the game and read the in-game manual.  You can do this mid game, too.

I'd say it more of an issue with your hand size vs. system size than it is with actual button layout.  I think the slide pad is great, personally (if only they had incorporated two of them right from the start).  I felt more comfortable with the original DS size than with the much smaller 3ds, but it is meant to be compact and able to be carried around easily.  I think they have managed to balance the issue somewhat ok and I'm happy with the product once I got used to the feel.   ...but perhaps for people like you or myself, a 3ds xl wouldn't have been a bad option right out of the gate or perhaps down  the road a bit.

Another thought would be that rather than a 3ds xl being the answer, perhaps people with larger hands (and adult gamers) should look to the circle pad pro accessory to be the answer for better grip/comfort.  I know I like the concept and am getting one.

For the record, I'm an over 6ft, tall WWE looking monster of a man. I don't have any issues with the 3DS aside from it being too thin (hence my fondness for 3rd party grips). I don't have any of the problems that the OP has in either of his two threads (though my kid did turn the console off when she tried to pause in MK7, yesterday). I imagine he has really deformed, sweaty hands.
