Why do people want badges to go away? The database badges give you a reason to explore the database further. For eg a person working on critic reviews may try out other things like banners and screenshots.

No problems with badges here since it's less likely that someone will spam just to get a badge.

Even if they do spam, admins have to check things before they get accepted, and such spamming will get punished.

It had some negative effects, no doubt, but iphone hate needs to stop.
The iphone library was the weakest one in the DB, now we have a decent one, a lot of time and efforts were put into it, so be nice.

I won't miss it too TBH, and here is a goodbye kiss for the long, bottomless queue that has more than 600 entries :p

I guess having iPhone games in the DB is good for completion sake but apart from the few great titles that deserve a page, it does feel like the equivalent of entering Flash games in the PC gaming section.

Even if the good majority of iPhone games might be nothing more than flash-type games, having a good solid database on the site is very helpful and you can't say anything about the iPhone's popularity. Still, though, there are some older systems missing from the database and they should be added.

i came in 5th once because i wanted to and stayed in the top 10 for the most part but these past 2 or so months i ranked in the to 15 only do to my lack of interest but thats another matter.

i wanted to continue to add games and stuff but i seem to have lost interest in that as well. i'll likely start back (no iphone games) just to keep myself busy as i stop posting in the forums for lack of interesting topic's. those damned voting threads got way out of hand, yet i was happy to know i'm one of the top 3 or 4 Americans (2/3 people tied for second) on vgc in one round anyway lol.

anyway i'd like for gamer rewards to stay but it seems the people that stayed in the top 5 are the only ones that had any interest in it.

I guess I'm still stuck in Reggie-mode and I'm not ready to accept the iPhone as a gaming platform.

So true.

but it seems everyone is refering to the certain members that built the iphone library as point whores or spammers which isn't acceptable, they did a good job.

how do you get badge's? I don't have any.

well there gone now (i think) but aside from being an active poster you'd have to add games, reviews from select sites, make threads, have a birthday, be here for consecutive yr.'s, amongst a list of other things.
