Christmas is over, people are not going to be rushing out to buy a $400 toy simply because it is slightly better ... The PS3 may outsell the XBox 360 worldwide but the margin will not be particularly large.
I haven't seen a good argument why the XBox360 will outsell the PS3 yet. Does anyone else realize the PS3 outsold the 360 from January to August last year? It also comes in to the year outselling the 360 WW, with Blu-Ray just becoming the victor in the format war.
There is no "why" to it. It seems like people are saying the 360 will win with no support. Oh well though, I guess alot of people are going to be wrong then.

I assume that you're looking at worldwide numbers which include the massive boost in PS3 sales that the launch of the PS3 in Europe created ... If you take away the launch boost and compare the PS3 and XBox 360 on equal terms this is what you get:

It beat the 360 in WW numbers in Japan and others. The PS3 continues to struggle in the Americas. It did not win WW in the Americas during the holiday season though it sold better then it did in previous months in 2007. The Americas continue to be where the PS3 struggles. It will continue to struggle until Developers can turn a profit on most of the games on the console. Developers are releasing the multiplatform games quickly for the 360. Look at Stranglehold and The Orange Box. PS3 Owners had to wait an extra month for each game due to problems with development. And the return on those games hasn't been great as most people purchased them for the 360. PS3 software sales with the exception of a few games aren't very good right now.
It's all about the games and right now the development studios are finding it easier to develop games for the Wii and the 360. Blu-Ray will not have a huge impact on how many PS3's sell. Most novice consumers will not buy a PS3 for Blu-Ray and the few that are looking for Blu-Ray players will buy a stand-alone player not a PS3.

The 360 won't bomb, the Ps3 won't sell out past 100 million, the Wii will. Over all predictions, NINTENDO IS BACK IN FIRST BITCHES!
