Forums - Microsoft - New Xbox With Six-Core CPU and “Dual-GPU” From AMD (Rumor Analysis)

I doubt we'll see a dual gpu in nex-gen... for some reasons already stated as well as the primary being cost.

None of these companies is going to make a system that costs more than $600 to build as they will want to sell sub-$400.

Ps3 proved that you cannot be a market leader or even a great success (face it, PS3 is not going to be remembered as a highly successful PS hardware) if you sell it for more than $400 or with a $200+/unit loss.

We will see 4-6 core CPUs (no more CELL stuff) and 2GB (maybe more) memory.... but I'd highly doubt there will be any dual GPUs.

One thing I'm fairly certain of is that, unless it is an optional add-on for people who want 3D display or higher resolution (or what not), no console manufacturer will release a system with 2 GPUs. It would (likely) be too expensive, use too much energy (and run too hot), and would (likely) increase the failure rate of the system.

Two GPUs could refer to the model Nvidia and AMD/ATI have used for some time to create some highend cards, where they stick two GPUs on one graphics card for increased performance.

I know, and these cards are less reliable, are far more expensive, use far more energy, and run far hotter than their single chip counterparts ...

It is just a prototype for dev kits the rumour says, so the final hardware would most likely  not be a dual GPU.
That shit isn't really for consoles.

January? damn that's close :D exciting

RAM is a little low. That would probably be fine for a couple years but  id say 4 would be much safer.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Did they forget to also include that there'll be liquid cooling to keep the gpu from burning?

cool i will be able to use this as a grill while playing games :D

would work perfect for cooking mama!
