Isn't sleep really inconvenient? I mean, why must our bodies force us to get a certain amount of rest in a day for it to keep functioning properly?

Now, I know that sleeping is important for processes for memory and general brain development, but I'm certain that there must be a more efficient replacement for this activity.

Do you think that it will ever be possible to develop a drug that mimics the action of sleep on the brain, but allows us to keep working in a powered-down state, or something similar? I think that we will make great progress as a species if we can get this to work.

What are your opinions on the matter?

I really like sleeping, so I hope we don't ever invent anything that replaces sleep. radishhead, in your sig it says you will post new videos every week, it's been a video of a llama attacking a goat for over a month now!

But what else will men do after sex?

Before we tackle this problem, we first should find a solution to remove free will from women.

This is by far a bigger issue than productivity lost during sleep.

I was hoping that nobody would notice x( I was going to make a video in 3 days time lol - until then, the Llama will have to do.

@non-gravity I just want to find a way to improve efficiency

No offence but humans need rest. I cannot imagine a world where I worked 20+ hours a day didn't sleep at all . I mean the world would be nuts efficient but nuts people would want to rest this drug would stress peoples lives out and lead to much more depressing lifestyles. In the end people would be worked to death.

Personally I suffered severly from Insomnia for 3 years. I couldn't sleep naturally and was able to stay awake for days to months at a time. Trust me it was not fun at all, I wished and prayed and longed for even a nights sleep. It really sucked and I can't see why anyone would want to take a drug so they could do that willingly!

I imagine you still felt tired and had trouble concentrating and other negative effects of sleep deprivation? If you didn't have all that and always felt rested would you still think it was a big problem?

The brain still needs some time to 'reset' at night but if that process could be sped up I'm all for it. 1 or 2 hours and wake up all rested, yes please. Especially now we have to give round the clock care to a sick baby with a jealous 2 year vying for attention as well. Feeling tired, grumpy and having difficulty concentrating all the time due to sleep deprivation is not fun.
