I'm around the same age as you (29, will be 30 in July) and I grew up on the NES (had a Atari 2600 before NES though). Nintendo has shown me no reason to even think twice about abandoning them. I am probably even more interested in their games than when I was younger. I used to buy a lot more third party games for the 8, 16, 32/64 bit eras. I find myself less and less interested in 3rd party titles and more excited for Nintendo games.

I'll give you a game that got a lot of old people excited to play the Wii, and when I say old I mean OLD.  Wii Sports...  Wii Sports also got me laid and my current girlfriend.  Thank you Nintendo for the pussy.

One more thing....  Have you seen youtube videos of hot girlfriends playing the Wii in little outfits while the boyfriends sits back and enjoys the view?

Point is proven that it is fun for both.  Men don't even have to play the game and get real life eye candy.  Sounds like a win-win for both and a lot better than a girlfriend that is only semi-interested in video games that has to watch a boyfriend play video games such as Halo, Gran Turismo, God of War, etc..
