Forums - Sales - Whats up with DBZ sales in EMEAA?

This has confuzzled me for quite a while, According to vgchartz the Budokai trilogy which came out at the shows peak of popularity sold an average of 150,000 copies in EMEAA, 1/10th of the US numbers.

Tenkaichi sold 80,000 and Tenkaichi 2 doesnt have any sales data.

Fair enough all these numbers are probably wrong, Tenkaichi 3 sold nearly 1.2 million copies on PS3 and Wii. 850,000 being on the PS2, so for some reason it was able to increase its sales 10 fold in the course of 2 years, but like i said im surethats wrong.

The year after Burst Limit sold pretty well for an early next gen game, 550,000 copies, more than America's sales.

After that it becomes weird, Raging Blast went on to do pretty well in US, it sold better than Tenkaichi 2 and 3 on PS2. Yet in EMEAA its sales are only 250,000. The sequel sold a pitiful 80,000.

Ultimate Tenkaichi had the most interest in a DBZ game in quite a while, it had one of the best openings in US for a DBZ game, but so far in 2 weeks in EMEAA the game has sold about 20,000 copies. How could it go from 1.2 million to 0.02 million like that, it was on the Italian charts, i saw i on a shopping site under best sellers aswell.

I just dont see how it could have dropped that fast when it keeps doing even better in US.

Around the Network

im seeing a few games that have lower sales than i thought they would in emeaa like ace combat. Though maybe since these big releases are out their more focused on those. I mean from vgchartz sales data those type of games will sell 2,000 copies a week for along time so In a way it seems they buy it in small amounts but it adds up over time. Though thats just a guess idk lol.

I believe Raging Blast 2 got discontinued after the first release, can't recall why but I think there was only one initial shipment after that it was gone, a friend nabbed a copy for the launch price, then the price was adjusted up as there were considerably fewer copies of the game.

Maybe same happening for the next iterations? Or most likely VGC just can't be arsed to track the EMEAA sales, US are so much easier probably.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Well i still see copies of the game in stores. I dont see why they would have just one small shipment when the Tenkaichi 3 and Burst Limit games were successful.

It definitley makes no sense that this newest game sold even worse than Raging Blast 2 when it was alot more anticipated than it, in US it opened to like 100,000.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 sold 700,000 copies in EMEAA how could it sell like that and the more popular DBZ fail so miserably, Storm 2 sold nearly 150,000 copies in EMEAA in 2 weeks, thats almost 10x what Ultimate tenkaichi did.

Maybe they just arnt tracking it like you said.
