First of all, What is the Sega CD? Is it an add on?

If so what games require you to have it? What does it to? I know it has something to do with the Genesis right?

Yes, the Sega CD was an add-on to the Sega Genesis.

It is that moment when owning a Genesis (or Mega Drive as we called it in the old country) went from being cool to an embarrassment.

I think it was also called the Mega CD. Not much to it as it died pretty quick.
