Forums - Gaming - Worst games you actually paid for and tried to play

I bought some clunkers too last gen

Automodellista

All style, no fun

Final fantasy 10

The pointless easy random battles every 5 steps made me quit the game. Backtracking became too much of a chore. The only Final fantasy since 7 that I did not complete.

Eye Toy Antigrav

Yes it worked, no it wasn't fun.

Earlier this generation I bought into the "Buy the Hardcore Wii games!!1! The ones with guns, blood, and other manly stuff!" shindig that was going on and bought MadWorld and The Conduit.

Played MadWorld for 30 minutes (enough to beat the first level) and promptly returned it. Got a little farther with The Conduit, but returned it quickly as well. I don't even like Beat-em-Ups and FPS'... what was I thinking?

Other than that I've been (surprisingly) pretty good.

About half my MegaDrive games were barely played at all, but that was because I bought the console + 7 games 2nd hand from a local newspaper advert.

Games that I bought deliberately but regretted it: (in descending order, so the worst at the bottom)

MadWorld - Wii (This would probably be even lower if I had paid any significant amount of money for it, but it was only £3.87, I've had more expensive sandwiches)
The Simpsons Road Rage - GC
Galaga '90 - Virtual Console
Roadsters 99 - N64
Army Men Sarge's Heroes - N64
South Park Rally - N64
Bomberman Blast - WiiWare (I had never played Bomberman before, and decided to try it out, really wish I hadn't)

Infamous (PS3) - I finally beat this awful game a few days before the second one came out.

Oblivion (PS3) - Fell for the hype and bought the GOTY edition.

L.A. Noire (PS3) - AAA my ass.

God Hand (PS2) - Got duped by a G4 review.

Enchanted Arms (PS3) - I was desparate......

Breath of Fire 5 (PS2) - I bought that piece of shit game twice! Fuck you for this Capcom.

Street Fighter 4 (PS3) - I juust wanted a new Street Fighter game.....

Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) - Yeah.

NFS Pro Street (PS3) - Jesus Christ......

MW2 - If I try to explain this purchase I'll rage.

Despite the length of my list, I still like to think I have a pretty good track record for buying games.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Pretty much everything on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.
Metal Gear Solid 4.

The Force Unleashed on Wii; terrible controls, waggle heavy, and the graphics were a joke. returned it got half of my money back.

When I was a teenager and had little money, I paid full price (€60) for Tomb Raider: The Angel Of Darkness. Jesus f*cking Christ, I regret that sooooo much to this day.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

I regret buying The Conduit for $50, but I had fun with it so it wasn't bad at all.

The only game that comes to my mind right now is Marvel Ultimate Alliance for Wii, that game was just Terrible! Awful!, I tried to like it but it was just so boring. I don't remember how much I paid for it but even for free is not worth it!

Wow I see you listed Full Auto BattleLines, Full Auto was my favorite launch title for 360 and when I got PS3 BattleLines was the first game I purchased. To be perfectly honest I loved it though the PSP version sucks monkey balls.

The worst game I have ever played would have to be Sonic And The Secret Ring for Wii. The game was so horrible and I tried playing for about two hours, after those two hours I traded it in for half the price I bought it for. In fact I wouldn't pay more then 5$ for the game if I wanted to purchase it today.

Other then that I would have to say Bomberman Zero on the 360 is the next worst. I got the game for 9.99$ and I thought that 10$ was too much for it. The game was a bit buggy and it was essentially the old school bomberman with a new look. It played exactly like some of the old school games but didn't offer anything to make the game worthy of the Bomberman name. The experiance was fun for half an hour, then playing with friends was sort of fun as well. EBGames offered me like 50cents in trade in value for it, so I didn't trade it in. I heard of this kid who just bought a 360 and couldn't afford any games so I donated it to him.

The last few Spyro titles are pretty dang bad as well but I haven't bought any of them I just rented. To be honest I now pay a lot more attention to what I am buying. Though I did end up buying Duke Nukem Forever which I regrett but the game wasn't all that bad when compared to Bomberman or Sonic:Secret Rings!

Nights: Journey of Dreams (Wii)
Sonic & The Secret Rings (Wii)
Doom 3 (PC)

The warning signs were there, but I bought it anyway. Forced myself through doom 3 cuz I'm a big fan of the series.
