Nah doesn't have to explain it. That genre is getting more popular in Japan thanks to CoD. And with all the comparisons between the 2 all year it's likely more people decided to try Battlefield out with all the publicity. I find western type games are getting more popular in Japan.

BO sold only 120k FW in Japan

Yup Kirby should be 55k, but that is way better than last year's. In comparison it took Kirby around 5 to 6 weeks to get to around 200k. And exceptional FF, UC3 and BF3 numbers. I really didn't expect them to perform that well! JD and Go vacation with very solid numbers and low declines.

Finally SM3D Land has a similar FW to SMG3! That is unbelievable given that the Wii had a much bigger base (>10 million at the time). 

And I'm hoping these turn out to be the actual numbers and not false ones.. then i'll take back everything :P

Well 129k actually but it has long legs for Japan, up to almost 360k now.

I know this is a different genre, but look at Demon's Souls to Dark Souls, hell of an improvement. I am just saying this genre of game is growing. MW3 will likely open around 160k or more now.
