Erm, DS slot on the controller would be better. I'd buy into that idea.

THIS!!  And the DS game could be entirely playable on the controller with both the top and the bottom screen displayed on the controller OR the top screen on TV and the bottom screen on the controller!!  It's perfect!!

I guess there would be two possible ways of getting it to work:

1) The Wii U tablet has the necessary architecture to run DS and or 3DS games all by itself

+ no lag + Console can be used at the same time -

- tab will cost a lot

2) The reader in the tablet streams the data to the console which processes it (probably a virtual machine) and streams it back to the tablet

+ Only added cost to the controller will be the card slot + It would just be friggin awesome

- Some lag (I suppose) - Playing Mario 3DS in your bedroom means no-one can play Skyward Sword HD in the living room

It would be cool if there was a seperate version of the controller that retailed for say $40 more that had this function. All in all, I think option (2) is entirely possible and an enticing idea to boot. I guess it'll never happen then :/

Forget 3DS games. That'd mean a 3D screen for WiiU's controller, making it much, much more expensive. And it would also kill the 3DS.

Then how would you play the games in 3D?

You won't since you're not playing on the 3DS.

If Nintendo is reading this now, I'm pretty sure they are ruling the idea out

It`s a good idea, but i don`t think Nintendo will do it as it might interfere with the handheld market. Not to mention that either the controller or the console would have to have the hardware built into one or the other, which would mean a higher price tag.

So you want to play 3DS' games on WiiU but without 3D?

You dont need a DS slot, they could be added to the VC. But these seem to be limited to the 3DS just like the GBA and GBC.

Maybe they'll release some GBA games on the WiiU just like they've done with NES games released on the 3DS.

You say tomato, I say tomato

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

I will never happen. More likely, some DS games will be avaliable for download with some mods. But it would be great

At that point you might as well just make the 3DS be a potential controller for Wii U, much like Vita with PS3
