Yep it's only a gauge  and if you are using reviews to decide what to buy all you need is to see that a games good reviews outweigh the bad especially so with a game from a developer with ND's track record so whether it got 93 instead of 94 should be a  moot point, The other thing is by now most people should have at least one or two reviewers that over the years they have noticed they have an affinity with ,this doesn't mean you agree with everything they write just that they have a feel for and pretty much look for the same things in games that you do and you can use them as a broad measuring stick, but the final decision is ours  even though often it is hard to explain what factor(s) drew us to purchase particular games or rate them how we do.

It doesn't matter. It really doesn't. Deliberately hit seeking stuff affects everything popular, and is best ignored for the poor professionalism it reflects.

Still, I did smile thinking ND might ask Cliffy to weigh in on their behalf given how he reacted to Gears 3 getting an 8 never mind something below that.

But really, such stuff isn't worth worrying about. Whether someone personally liked Uncharted or not the quality of its polish in its genre is obvious and no one sensible is going to take seriously any outlier scores.

I'm sure I could find weak scores for almost all big scoring AAA titles if I searched for 5 minutes. Fact on life on the internet.

Shame sometimes it hits the metacritic score but TBH I think those are taken way too seriously and out of context too.

Its still 90+ on metacritic, so no biggie right?

I'm just passing through this thread on my way to the supermarket.  I just wanted to toss in my two cents.  Forza 4 has a lot of high scores and perfect scores from reviewers.  It's obviously a game of quality, just like Gran Turismo 5.  Even somebody that dislikes the game (like me, for instance) can admit that a game is well made.  Giving a game that has garnered almost universal acclaim a ten?  That doesn't raise a red flag.  Giving a game that has garnered almost universal acclaim a zero (like people tend to do on Metacritic and such for high profile games like Gears 3 and Uncharted 3)?  C'mon!!

Anyway, off I go to buy some eggs!

The thing is its supposed to be your games collection yet gtcarro has both  the PS3 and 360 versions of mw2 and blackops all rated  0.1 , must be short term memory lose that makes him double up or he a masochist.
