I don't understand how one of the top smartphones can be "better" than the other, when they have near enough the same features, do they do them better at cheaper price or something?

Other than maybe the price and personal comfort, I don't really consider anything else to be a priority when choosing a mobile phone.

'Better' as in 'better specs'. Also, a much better price-quality ratio. Apple products are generally lower quality compared to their competitors (and less features) but much more expensive.

Yeah..Apple products aren't worth their price, not even close.

Gaming is nowhere near as strong on Android as iPhone. Even with the greater shipments of Android, iOS is the larger gaming platform, so I wouldn't quite agree with the thread title, even if we assume smartphone gaming is killing proper gaming...

This will change pretty soon though, as developers will have no reason to not focus on Android when it will surpass iOS phones.

The problem game developers have with android phones is fragmentation and they are vocal about it.

Samsung sold a lot of phones with the Galaxy leading the way but a lot of them were different models and hardware based on Android.

A game developer cam easily write a game that works on every iphone without much alteration.
A game developer must take into account the large number of different manufacturers, hardware, type (touchscreen phone , buttons) etc., when working with android.

The article can be misleading if not read correctly. The Galaxy didn't sell 27million or whatever. It was all of Samsung combined Android phones that did. A figure for the Galaxy was not published.

It's a shame google doesn't make money on android sales.

there are a lot of differences. the size of the screen, camera chip which changes the quality of photos drastically for different phones, operating system and plenty more stuff.

for example i would never buy an iphone 4s not only because of the price the screen is too small for me. i need a screen with minimum 4'' and the ihone doesn't have this.

there are a lot of good games for android they are just not all in the market. best graphic games are only downloadable on the internet sites of the developers. and with games like gta 3 we see that now with enough galaxy s2 and other high spec phones android gets great games as well. (btw i don't like to play these great games on the smartphone i only play the simple ones on it like chess or angry birds) for the big games i need a real handheld.

Regarding this point, all iPhone sales are cummulative (i.e. all iPhones are lumped together), so it's only fair that they lumped all of Samsung's smartphones together.

That's not my point nor has nothing to do with what I said. Lumped together or not is beside the point.

Gaming Consoles are uniform for a reason. It makes everything easier.

iOS is more uniform than Android because of, for example................
Interface.

All iphones are based on the same type input.
Android phones comes in button, touch or as mine is a combo of both.
A developer has to take all this into acccount if he needs to cover all android phones.. not to mention everthing else.

With the Galaxy android might have a "one phone" that developers can focus on but the Galaxy sales won't come near to iPhone collectively and therefore challenge as top dog as you indicated in an earlier post.

see, that's wrong, samsung sold 10 million galaxy s 2 till september. they sold 5 million galaxy s2 only between july and september (10 million s2 in 4 months) apple sold 18 million iphone 4 in one year or so, so samsung will beat this or reach the same sales. everyone thinks apple sells so much more iphone than samsung galaxys but that's not true. they just make more money because they have a huge margin.

put some other models to that with the same type input and you see that there isn't a reason to not develop the same gaes for the best android devices. if developer still don't do it they are simply stupid. and we shouldn#t forget that apple gets a lot of the sales from every game that's not the reason for a developer if he makes a android game.

I have doubts that a significant portion of people will ever pay more than a couple dollars on a Phone-Game, which limits the kind of games that can be made for these devices and protects the console gaming market. Beyond this, there are certain styles of gameplay these devices can not support which also ensures a strong console gaming market.

That's a lot of profit.

Already posted and thread title is misleading/trolling.
