Forums - Nintendo - The newest Wii DDR game shows why GC-less Wii sucks.

good for Ninty, but that doesnt help the consumers??

Hey, not caring for consumers worked for Sony. They certainly didn't humbly say at the last E3 that without their customers there would be no Playstation brand.

Touche to both of you, screw it, I got my backward compatible Wii, sucks to whoever buys the new model

For the WiiU I understand if it doesn't get backwards compatibility fo GC games because it's 2 generations old. I know some people would want to, but not the majority of them. Also you can always play GC games on old wii's and GC consoles.
For the wii to remove the gamecube compatibility it doesn't makes much sense IF they are the exact same price as the old wii, however I read (and I was almost sure) the new design without compatibility was cheaper than the old wii's but I don't know in my country the price is the same if not expensive just because "it's a new model"

Playstation 3 still plays original Playsation 1 games, even with the PS2 ability taken out.

Did you read the OP? I'm clearly talking about Wii games that use the GC controls, not the GC games. And those will be played on the next system.

I didn't say the Backwards Compatibility it's impossible or something, it's just that they are 2 generations old, not the majority of people would want to play GC games and that makes the console more expensive.

But that aside, I misunderstood the topic, I have DDR2 on Wii but yet i didn't played it. I, however, have DDR I and you can also play with wii mote + nunchuk, I'm sure this one too. It's a shame the new wii doesn't have GC controller support but really how many games are in the market who use this controller?  This way the console it's cheaper for them, they make more profit AND the majority of the people won't care because they don't need it.

Of course this is kind of a dick move for nintendo, at the very least they should lower the price

Also, do you know if the game supports classic controller?

Wrong. I also brought up Netflix in the OP, which proved that people DO care about options even if they don't use them.

^ I agree. It's a matter of perceived value. Anyone with a basic understanding in marketing should know there is at least some influence in consumers' decisions and opinions.

But anyways, gaming fans are always thinking they are the new Steve Jobs, or the new Shigeru Miyamoto, and so on...

I'd rather say that it's DDR games' fault for using last gen connectivity, they could have used the usb or bluetooth. The new Wii Fit plus bundle here in Europe does seem cheaper, but have the same price for the other bundles (atleast in Germany).

They did it for four games already on THIS generation, so that argument is faulty.
