Looks absolutely phenomenal! Too bad the game is never going to come out >:/

That ain't even funny >___>

Seriously though how long have we been waiting?  Damn Blizzard and their taking forever to make games.

The game can't be too far away from release since a bunch of us already own a copy and are just waiting to download the game.

April 2012 was the date they said at the latest Blizzcon. The copy you have is from the yearly subscription to WoW right?

Edit - Latest unconfirmed rumour, Jan 17th: http://www.mmocrunch.com/2011/10/27/diablo-3-release-date-leaked-jan-17th/

3 years since it was announced at Blizzcon 2008. And so what, I can name a few console games that had us waiting for many more years. Blizzard is known to have very long development times, but they deliver always in the end. Plus, it's in their interest to release this game next year, to capitalize with both Heart of the Swarm and Diablo III. I just hope that their delusions of bringing DIII to consoles don't force them to delay this, that would be a major piss on pretty much every Diablo fan.

Please no! I would facepalm myself to death if that happened (unintenionally of course)

Same here. If they do want to release a console version, they'd better do as they did with Diablo for the PSX...though we all know how that turned out XD.

I don't see how anyone would want to play Diablo without a mouse.

Ever tried Starcarft 64? :S

I did...it's on the same level of suckyness, without the need of buying a memory card solely for that game XD XD XD.

@TruckOSaurus - I can't fanthom that either, but it seems there has been a demand for a console version, even here on VGC by some members (i.e - those that don't know that PC gaming exists or think that you need to spend a bajillion dollars on one).

That's a retarded POV because Blizzard is known to make games that don't require too much from your computer. haha Some ppl!

Well, that's more of a general approach to PC gaming as a whole rather than Blizzard games. Heck, I bet the minimum requirements for DIII will be met by PCs at least 7 years old.

I remember being able to play starcraft on like a Pentium II. They just always made their games playable on the weakest architectures. Yeah, it's a little different now with all the effects and different settings you can adjust so nowadays I guess most PC games now can be customized to a certain extent to fit the weaker architectures. But I haven't been as involved in the PC world when that started to happen (mostly 3D gaming). One game I had a hard time getting to work on my PC was Final Fantasy VIII, but for games like starcraft, Diablo or Warcraft I rarely ever had any problems.

FFVIII was a bitch to set up because it was a very, very shoddy optimization work. FFVII was better in that aspect. No one tops Blizzard when it comes to PC optimization, heck I can play WCI and Starcraft without having to resort to DOSBOX to play them, which is becoming increasingly rare these days for old school PC games.

@bolded That's awesome, I didn't realize you could still play WC1 on the modern windows systems :)

On requirements topic, here are the SCII requirements. It can play on a PIV with 128 MB ram in the GPU. That's pretty generous.

http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=26242

I have hopes that if someone is willing to sacrifice on effects a little, they could probably go far with a last gen Core 2 duo (which are like 200$ used nowadays). If they want the full DIII experience though :B They'll need more like an i5 with a reasonably good graphics card at least. I think mine is overkill cause i have a geforce 460 lol. My i3 is a bit of a bottleneck though.

I think on SCII what you sacrifice the most is the actual physic effects rather than visual impact, when you put the graphical fidelity on low. My 800€ laptop eats up SCII on Ultra at 60FPS constantly, no matter how many units there are on screen (i7 with a HD6770M), so Diablo III is probably max setting for me too, but as you say, even entry level dual cores and GPUs will be able to play DiabloIII, especially since I see it having less or equal requirements to SCII.

Huh it seems like i've been waiting for more like 6 years for it to show it's face.

And I don't think there would be anything wrong with a console version of the game. (I would prefer it actually since that's where I do 99% of my gaming)

Heretic! BUUUURN HIM!

Seriously, I think most of the spell/abilities could be done easily with a controller. You could use the analog stick to point in the right direction and a button to use a spell like fireball for example but for a spell like DII's meteor where you click on where you want it to land the dual analog setup would be such a pain to use.
