1) well just for a console for 5 years, 600$ is not much - FACT.

2) about wii is ok. but x360:

a) it has a high failure rate, ~75% it will die during 5 years.

b) to compete with PS3 gaming experience, you have to count Live! it`s 5$ per month = 11,67$ if not to mention 2nd x360 wich you will have to buy.

3) yeah, you see, each month around 100-150k people worldwide are buying ps3 for 600-800$, THEY BUY PS3. That means to them price is reasonable. And for MANY people, which are not running to buy ps3 today mainly because not many ps3 games are out, which they want to play. GAMES will boost sales, just give some time, and you will see.

Crazzyman: I dont have an xbox, I think the only game for xbox that i really want is blue dragon... I dont think the elite is out here yet... but the pro retails for 400 dollars with those two games included. I think that by the time the PS3 reaches 400 dollars if there are games for it that i like (none of the games you mentioned are my kind of games...) and Blue Ray players are not 200 dollars I might buy it (thats if Blue ray movies retail for 15-20 dollars like DVDs do... and thats a big if... PS2 had more games I wanted to play and I didnt buy one... I borrowed a friend's ps2 to play Dragon Quest VIII and Marvel vs Capcom II and my brother played both kingdom hearts on it... but thats about it... The only games that I plan on getting this year are Mario Strikers, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime III and above all else Smash Bros. Brawl... and those are really most unlike the games you mentioned... I'm also not buying an x360 just for bluedragon... I have a friend with an x360, that might be a better option for me. From the friends group I have here are the console's allocations 1 friend has Wii and PS3 1 friend has Wii and Xbox360 1 friend has Wii 1 friend has Xbox360 And I have a Wii that makes 4 wiis, 2 360s and a PS3, I think we would all have wiis if it wasnt for the fact that guy who has a PS3 and a Wii is the roommate of the guy who only has a 360, so that Household has all 3 systems, one other household being a wii60 one, and all 4 households having a wii (2 in exclusivity, and one of those two is a friend who skipped the whole PSX, N64, PS2, GC, Xbox eras, he was still playing games he just played with us his friends with other consoles.)

I think you are underestimating the 360. By year end it will hit 20 -25 million. The Wii will stagnate and won't reach 10 million.

Try to remember the Wii figures for NA are more fanciful than factual. Prior to April's figures (which are odd) the Wii's NA sales dropped by around 25% every month. Eventually this trend will return. Wii is a fad. No GTA IV or anything of this nature. Eventually... hopefully people will wake up and this thing will grind to a halt. No one needs a market dominated by substandard fare for a second time.

 Just to make sure I understand your position:

1) You believe the Wii will sell 50 percent as well in the second half of the year as the first half, despite the fact that this would be historically unprecedented.

2) You believe the Xbox360 will sell 6x-7x as fast in the second half of the year, despite the fact that this is historically unprecedented.

You can see why we're a little amazed.

I see the Wii slowing down by maybe 10 - 15% till November with some minor spikes due to games.

The PS3 will increase its sales speed by 20% due to there being more games...

The 360 selling same amount with boosts similar to the Wii due to games.
