At least they acknowledged pixeljunk sidescroller, Eurogamer haven't reviewed it yet.
It's an instant classic for me, the last stage is simply amazing. Yes it is short, on casual... That gives me all the more incentive to learn the patterns and go for high scores on hard. I would rate it a 9.5, my second favorite pixeljunk game after Eden. I love the music.
If you want a long drawn out experience, play space invaders infinity gene. Also great, but not something I want to chase high scores on.

I read about this. Horrible move on that ign editor's part. Should be fired for something like that.

As for the EG thing. I honestly like EG. Always have. They're pretty critical which is a good thing. I don't always agree with them, though. In the case of Uncharted, I like that they gave the game an 8 for the reasons they did. I honestly wouldn't give U2 a 9 for the similar reasons.

I bet this happens all the time, but most times people don't get caught doing it.
Its not very professional at all though, in fact; I'd say its rather embarrasing.

Sorry to break it to you but Eurogamer is actually one of those sites that doesnt dish out 10's like its 8's. Chances are the reviewer truly felt U3 was a 8 and its understandable, if you read their review policy they pretty much explain as to why games usually get 8's. Have you even played U3 yet? How on earth do you know its so outrageous to give it a 8? which is stil a pretty darn good score.
