They should shoot it into space and blow it up...that would be a pretty cool looking firework!

But seriously how much damage would have this nuke done?

it's 9 megaton.. so it would be around Mike...

ivy Mike and Castle Bravo were US tests.. and the Tzar Bomba just shows how more awesomer the Russians were..

Whats scary about that is the Tzar Bomba was teted at 50% of its possible yeild.

:o

Where the hell do they even test something like that?

Actually the bomb was one of the cleanest ever tested,  with little to no fallout at all.

Here is where I am getting my info from

The test section describes everything about the bomb including blast radii.  My favorite one was that window panes were being broken up to 560 miles away.

wouldt it be funny while dissarming the nuke, there two people working on it, yeah john just cut the blue wire......snip, wait i mean blue... sigh. BOOOOM

Haha have you not seen russia? :p And like 40% of it is a frozen wasteland.

Cool I guess. They're already built though so kinda pointless dismantling them, unless you're combining them into fewer, bigger bombs.

600 times? man that would have been horrible

It's kind of like earthquakes, a 9.0 is ten times more powerful than an 8.0 but they do relatively similar damage. The bigger nukes get, the less efficient they are. This bomb was a monster, but if I wanted to win a war I would rather have 600 hiroshima bombs than a B53, I would rather have just 60 hiroshima bombs to be honest.

Just fewer bombs. Reduces costs and also goes a way towards to eventual goal of total nuclear disarmament.

America and Russia now realise that having enough bombs to destroy all potential enemies a hundred times over is probably overkill.
