No, I wouldn't. I've played it already.
I have bought the remake for FF IV and would buy the remake for FF VI because I never played those before.

I would buy it just because I love the series and want to support it, but a VII remake would be among the least intersting (i.e I would be the least enthused) of any possible FF product I could/would purchase.

If the year it released was busy (personal schedule wise) I'd probably buy it and not play it, just to support sales, of course if I had plenty of time to game i'd play it for sure, But it would be one of the least interesting remakes to me of all remakes I would possibly buy.

I'm not a huge Final Fantasy game. I have played a few (II, III, VII, X, XIII) and while I enjoyed most of them, VII was a freaking EXPERIENCE for me. I loved it. I don't care if it was over-rated, under-rated or anywhere in between, this game defined what I expected from a high-quality JRPG.

That being said, this game is a part of my gaming past - I'm not sure I would buy a remake. I guess it depends on HOW re-made it was. I voted "nostalgia > remake", but I'm not ruling out that I would buy it.

I'd rather have the International versions of FFX (I hope the HD version is this one) and FFXII come over to the US before a FFVII remake, though.

I would break into the store and play that shit early.
