I have high doubts of a 2012 release (at the most December), but 2014/2015 seems too far away for this game. 2013 could be when it's released or the Last of Us could be a PS4 launch title.

USA Today and Eurogamer are saying the game is targeted for late 2012 or early 2013, pending delays:

And the game is obviously very far along, too far along to not be released until 2014/2015. Even God of War III didn't take that long to come out after it was announced, and its initial trailer was fully CGI.

Your engine argument doesn't really apply in this case, it's quite obvious that the engine should be done already from that trailer, plus the fact is companies don't have a habit of releasing trailers on engines that aren't finished. It'd be a bugger to do anyways, unfinished engines like doing the opposite of what you want
