3ds doing numbers there, it seems like backwards compatibility is helping the 3ds down there... December numbers are going to be really really high...

December numbers could be record high especially during week 51. FFXIII-2 on PS3, Vita launch, MHP3G on 3DS and Wii&PSP still moving decent amount of hardware. Over million week for total hw is looking pretty likely.....

Anticipation for the best holiday lineup in Japan this year. There are also other reasons to buy a 3DS without games. Like your DS being worn out and you being in need of a replacement. Getting a 3DS allows you to play all your DS games while being prepared to play future 3DS releases.

Also maybe the built in software (A.R. games) and the 3d itself is making a good impression on people. Don't let these forums fool you, the 3ds has an amazing effect on people.

And people are buying games with there 3ds's but its spread out( since no killer app as of yet) and the 3ds user base is still obviously small  as compared to consoles on the market for 5+years. Of course it wont have much games on the top ten list with other systems which such larger user base. The fact that it does with no killer apps is very impressive. I am surprised zelda is still up there.

Sure, I was just joking on the numbers :P

But the PSP situation is actually normal, it's sucessor is less than 2 months away, it can't sell like before.

I can see something that helps the 3DS sell right now - it plays DS games.
