So far:

Graphics:   Forza - 11, GT5 - 14
Sound:  Forza - 12, GT5 - 12

If someone only picks one of the options like they pick Forza 4 sound for example...that means by default they also pick GT5's graphics. Otherwise they could have just picked Forza 4 sound and graphics.

So that means

Graphics: GT5 - 17, Forza 4 - 12

Sound: GT5 - 13, Forza 4 - 16

I found a video showing how to change the suspension settings can do in GT5... AMAZING.

Not really, since you can still think the graphics are even while the sound is not etc.

I guess that's true. I messed up the poll. what I wanted to do was +forza sound/+GT5 graphics, +Forza graphics/+GT5 sound. Oh well it's too late now.

Although I don't see how anyone could think the sound in both games is about the same since they sound so different.

I never really paid attention to sound, are there any significant differences?

Yeah just listen to the differences in the Zonda video from a while back. They don't really sound anything alike.

can you do this in Forza 4

Can you do this in Forza 4

Can you do this in Forza 4

yo-john remeber thatt convo you had a while back in this thread about that nuburgring comparison.....yeah this one's for you dude

Can you do this in Forza 4

how bout this...is this achievable in Forza 4

how's about this surely you can this in Forza 4 ...... right

Surly this can be achieved right?

Can be done in Forza 4, I'm sure of it.......right

surely something like this exist in Forza 4......right

until Forza can do ANY of the above........NON FUCKING COM-PARE-A-BLE!!!!!!! like I said, not even in the same league

you can have your elaborate paint editor, 50 Ferrari's, and Jeremy who gives a fuck Clarkson. That shit don't mean a thing in my fucking RACING SIMULATOR

the above how ever does, now keep lying to yourself saying that it doesn't

i'd tend to agree with this... while its debatable that forza looks better and sounds better, theres no arguing that gt 5 offers vastly more in terms of racing than forza in that gt 5 has features like rally, F1, nascar, night-day transition, weather changes, go karting, track editor etc

even though forza 4 also has some exclusive features like kinect integration and livery editor, how do they actually stack up in terms of racing?

it's a tie....... again

You know if you hit a wall at 100 you are completely done in F4. That was very poor representation of damage for GT5..I highly doubt it's that bad. That looked like car damage not mechanical damage.

You see the little car diagram to the right of the video? Each individual part can get damaged realistically from crashes.

Asthetic damage on the other hand is still underwhelming IMO. It's not bad but it could be much better.

Turn 10 aims to get damage modelled accuratly, but it's limited because you can't deform the chasis of the car, only the panels. So far small scale impacts, it's great, but big ones it's not. Also to be fair, damage in GT5 and Forza 4 is scaled back a bit to make the game funner. Hit a wall head on at 30km/h in real life, and your car probably isn't going to drive the same, but in both games you only get minor damage.

GRID actually has the best damage model, and they try to be a sim. GRID also has the best AI, but they are far too agressive for real world driving. However I just don't feel the quality in CodeMasters games. I hear F1 2010/2011 is different though.

Really? Even not being able to move much at all would be considered minor damage?

Well..... see the thing is for large scale collisions Turn 10 uses both pre-calculated values and real time deformation modeling. Tire deformation, along with break wear, and damage to smaller compnents (like the alignment) is all modeled real time. A big hit to the was used pre-calculated values because as you see your car does not deform. Ontop of that, but Turn 10 and PD scale back those values because well any impact at high speed will ruin your race entirely. Both games sacrifice some realism to make the game playable, but I hope future games offer true simulation damage (including chasis deformation). However most manufacterers will probably not agree to this any time soon.

Fifth Gear (rival of Top Gear) did a test of a Ford Focus hitting a wall at 120MPH. It's pretty deadly, it will be a while before we see any sim model deformations like that. This is the newest season (20 i think) episode 1 or 2.

Michael, could you explain the difference between a "penalty system" and an "active simulation damage model"?

Also, I'm pretty sure GT5's track variants far outweigh Forza 4's as I've mentioned before.

Track varients are the number of track types. Forza 4 has over 100, GT5 has something like 70-80. Wikipedia it.

It doesn't work like that. The track editor enables GT5 to have almost limitless track variants.

I'm talking real world track varients...geez. I gave GT5 a point for track editor already.

Penality System and Damage System in GT5 are two different things... the Penality System just exist in Online for balance the players... the Damage System exist in every mode of GT5.

The Damage System not use any type of penality... that's real-time deformation engine.

GT5:P uses a damage with penality system.

Well that's not true. Kazunori Yamauchi only ever confirmed a real time tire deformation model, the rest is the same as GT5P...

but think what you want, not like you have a 360 and can play Forza, so I understand why your so supportive of GT5.
