Most people here see that Forza 4 is better. The ones who don't are ethomaz (who has never played Forza 4) and Booh! who does raise good points. Forza 4 isn't perfect, it does cheat to make itself look better in many regards, but in the end, it looks the best, and with 500 premium cars, who would choose the limited car list in GT5 over Forza 4?
Clearly the majority
I'm not sure. At the start of the thread most were pro-Forza, and still even now I think more then half are on Forza 4's side then GT.
Anyway, it doesn't matter anyway. This is one of those threads that will never die. GT5 has too much of a cult following. Even before GT5 released I read posts of people expecting this game to be the best game in the world, 10/10.
No matter how good the competition is, some people here won't even accept the Forza as a proper compeditor, on similar grounds of quality.
So why bother debating anymore? Just going to ride my BMW Donkey and play some Forza 4.

and with 500 premium cars, who would choose the limited car list in GT5 over Forza 4?
Hahaha. 500 premium cars, remove the ones that are the same (just a different paint job)
i.e.
2011 #02 Audi A4 Touring Car 2011 #03 Audi A4 Touring Car 2011 #04 Audi A4 Touring Car 2011 #05 Audi A4 Touring Car 2011 #06 Audi A4 Touring Car
And you are left with 400.
I'd easily trade 200 cars (I won't even use 100, let alone 200 or 400. Especially now with this new affinity system, I'm trying to get Mazda to level 50, so I won't use another brand for a long time) for a F1 and go-karts.
OH WOW!!!!
And GT5 doesn't have repeats? 150 Nissans, 13 Honda S200's (only 4 different models) and what 40 NASCAR cars which are basically Identical?

damn is that Forza4? the lighting is way over done.
I think you guys should leave your houses more. Your telling me on a bright sun shiny day everything is dark and there is no reflections? oh please.
this user has never played either game and has viewed the games only based on what he has seen so far and has determined Forza has better graphic's, arguable when it comes to sound qualiy, and its all about taste although its been somewhat proven that GT5 has better AI.
graphic's should never even be consider unless the enviromment can't be seen. this user is done with this topic and nolonger post in this thread.
Booh! It's obvious that there is a lower polygon count when there is 12 players vs 1 player? You said: "Oh, sorry. I should have noticed your problem when you said that the car just missed lighting, while it is obvious to everybody else that it had an untextured and low poly interior"
This is complete BS, the polygon count doesn't magically change, there aren't 2 car models for every car. Also this video is such garbage resoltuion, get something clearer. When I showed you those Forza vs GT5 videos and images they were at least 720p, and not taken off screen.
There are 4 in facts (it seems, some hacker extracted the car models from the FM4 disc). However the purpose of having different levels of details is to have less polygons to render and this fact was very well documented in FM3:
As for the FM4 LOD switch between race and hot lap:
Fully rendered and textured interior (1 car on the track)
Untextured interior with cheap prebaked reflection on the window to hide the missing polygons and textures:
This last videos is very telling about the cheap&dirty tricks used by FM4: you can see the sun reflected in the rear window even when the car is in the shadow of the terraces and bridges along the track!!!!111!!!11moreones
As for the standard cars, these are all standard cars:
Only a handful of standard cars got to see an upgrade like that, most still look like in picture 1. So 200 premium cars + 50 cars standard cars which are still sub Forza 2 quality, + 750 cars (with many repeats) which are HD PS2 car models.
Those models of Forza you linked, are those Forza 3 or 4? I know Forza 4 has 1 autovista model, one model for the store (GT5 also has this too), one model for in car racing, and 1 for replay. However, except for the autovista model GT5 has the same.
You are making it seem that in one race you will have 1 model car, but in 12 player, you will have another separate model, which is untrue. The polygon count in any racing model is always the same.
As for the "bad" video. excuses, excuses. I see a reflection, but on a sunny day, glass reflects light. There is light in the shadow, it's just relfected off buildings, and not as intense, and that's what Forza 4 is showing.
What I see is a beautiful reflection of the stands on one side of the car as you drive by it, and even when the car spins, the reflected light still shows the sun and reflections in appriopriate places. I can tell indifidual objects within the reflection, with pretty damn good detail, and I can see the best lighting engine I have ever seen in a game.
That "bad" video still looks worlds beyond any GT5 video you will find online (using the same shitty cars).

I don't know why you bother honestly
I'm a huge racing sim fan, the reason I bought a PS2 was GT3, and the reason I bought a 360 was PGR3/4 and Forza 2.
Forza has really grown as a franchise, and Turn 10 has grown as a company. Turn 10 is now over twice as large as PD, and three times as large as it was when they made Forza 1.
The amount of time they spent to make this game shows, and it's just so damn annoying when people think Forza 4 models sim behavior as well as a baboon in a go kart throwing banana peals at people.
People here, respectible forum member here (like ethomaz) are even claiming GT5 is supperior to Forza 4, without ever playing Forza 4, and judging their experience off Forza 3, which Forza 4 has seen tremendous improvements on.
I just wish people accepted Forza as a proper racing sim. Like it or not, Forza 4 is the best sim this gen so far, and down the road, once the brand is more recognizable too. The public might agree, and we might even start seeing Forza sales match GT sales.
Forza deserves more respect as a franchise, that's why I bother. GT5 is awesome, this just shows how crazy Forza has gotten.

After looking through this thread I can tell that you are a comletely biased fanboy and nothing can change that fact. You are no better than me, attacking other users views and constantly spewing your opinions as facts. You feel the need to reply to every Gt5 fans post, and most of what you write is simply not true. You might even be a turn 10 employee yourself, and you " must have an affinity towards turn 10 and microsoft"*. I can confidently say that you haven't spent one our with Gt5, let alone, "150".
* See I can do this too.
The Environments look better in Forza 4. I don't know about anyone else, but GT5 looks much plainer to me. The track looks better in Forza 4 especially will skid marks. Trees look better in forza and same with with the rest of the environment. The only thing GT5 has over Forza 4 from what I see is the sky box looks better.
Lighting is much better in Forza 4 especially when you look at the wheel and drivers hands.
The cockpits look similar, but I would have to give it to forza because of the lighting and the hands shaking in Forza 4, makes it look much more realistic.
Forza 4 audio is light years better. By far the biggest difference between the two. It almost sounds like GT5 audio was recorded from a cheap audio tape. Sorry, but it's true. Wheels sound also a lot better in Forza 4.
Obviously you can't tell how the vehicles run because were not actually playing so I can't judge.
Please don't hate on me. I'm only describing how I see it and being unbiased as possible. If GT5 really looked better I would say it without a doubt, but it really doesn't. It made me lol when someone said the audio was better in GT.
You sound like a complete biased moron. Wow that's much better.

I never said it didn't. Anyway, I thought you were talking about premium cars only since you said "limited car list". Sorry, my mistake.
I can't believe I read through this shit...all I got from this thread is that everyone defending Forza and GT are a bunch of rabid fanboys and are not to be believed or trusted regarding any of their impressions towards the competition.
Just go with what you own. Got a PS3, buy GT5, got X360 buy F4. Got both? then buy both. cant afford 2? then why the fuck do you have both consoles?
As for me, i'll stick to top gear 2. most fun racing game EVER!!!
