And they were havinga pretty good deal on game rentals. So I rented Rage today and normally rentals are $1.99 aday( I know ripoff), but the guy told me, "Or you could pay $7.50 plus Tax to hold onto the game for a month and if you beat it or don't like it you can return it for a new game, no extra cost and do that as much as you want for the entire month you have pass." I looked at him for second thinking there was a catch, but nope. If I hold onto the game over a month it turns into $14 for the next month, which is understandable. Mind you, I haven't rented from Blockbuster in awhile, so I have no idea how long this has been going on. I remember when game rentals at blockbuster was almost $10 for 5 days and now $7.50 for a month with unlimited rentals. My point is you should go rent from Blockbuster right now because this is much cheaper than Redbox and Gamefly. If you already know this, great, but if you don't it's just a heads up.  

The last time I rented there it had some pretty good deals, but this one takes the cake so far.

I've seen those around, but never rented from one. I already have Redbox so it never really crosses my mind because they are so similar.

Holy cow that is cheap! I may have to do that with Batman AC and Dark Souls!

I plan on beating Rage, then renting Child of Eden and Batman:AC if I can get through all those on time. Might wait on Dues Ex and Dark Souls so I can have more time on those.       

Oooh I also wanted to play Dues Ex. 

I can't get over how good of a deal that is...how are they even making money off of that?

It's been a LONG, LONG time since I rented from Blockbuster. I remember two bad incidents with them, way back in the PS1 era. The first time was when I rented Brain Dead 13 and when I got home, I noticed the disc was cracked in half and glued back together. Needless to say, the game didn't work and I took it back the next day. The second time, I rented Star Ocean 2 and the game kept freezing in the same exact spot, so I had to take it back.

I remember never having a good selection, plus I don't even know if there are any around where I live now.

Come on share the wealth man

I heard they were going out of business, so they are probably trying to compete right now even if it's at a loss.  

I've had some pretty crappy rental experiences, but mainly with Hollywood Video before they went out of business. I don't think I've had a problem with Blockbuster from what I recall.

If you rent from Blockbuster, they will make money. If they make money, they won't go out of business. If they don't go out of business, we won't get any going out of business sales (I bought about 15 games in January 2010 when Movie Gallery was on the chopping block-$5, each!)

Before you support a company and keep all of its employees from losing their jobs, think about what's truly important. Think about the going out of business sale.
