Forums - General - FBI Wreck a 750,000 dollar Ferrari!

Well as much as I'd say the FBI is at fault isn't the whole purpose of having insurance to cover you if you get in an accident? If the US Government crashes the car what difference does it make? The insurance policy still stands and the insurer is responsible to help pay for a replacement or cover the losses.

In this case its probably just a case of an FBI agent unfamiliar with the car driving it around a sharp corner or something. Speed may have been a factor but its not like he was drunk or anything. Since you can't verify the agent was violating any laws or driving irresponsibly I don't see how the insurance company would have a case.

It was an accident plain and simple. I mean yah its a 750,000$ car but it was still an accident and the fact that it was an FBI agent behind the wheel doesn't really matter. I mean FBI agents aren't perfect they crash vehicles too if he wasn't breaking any laws that caused the accident I don't see any reason for people to be upset. Obviously the insurance company just doesn't want to cover the damages.

But that's the job of the insurance company. They are expected to cover or at least help cover the damages that's why people buy insurance. If insurance didn't insure where would be the point in buying insurance?

@joelcool

It all depends on the kind of police they bought. If the terms of the police declare that the Insurance isnt liable in this case but if the FBI says we are the FBI we dont pay then no wonder the Insurance is pissed. We dont have enough informations about this case to determin who is right. We would need the exact circumstances of the joyride the terms in the police and the US laws to do that.

@Joe: I don't think the issue people have is that the FBI should or shouldn't have to pay. I think the issue is that fbi agents really shouldn't be going out on joy rides with US Government property. Ever.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

While I do agree with you. This Ferrari was NOT US Government property. It was stolen in 2003. And then found by the FBI so it should have been sent to the owner but they kept it instead as part of an investigation and the FBI Agent then crashed this part of an investigation. Now I wonder whos Insurance had to pay, the one of the original owner ?

I never realized that was a ferrari, thought it was a old corvette or something.

I have no idea what kind of car it is, but this story made me think of Ferris lol

Wow this goes to show how the US government acts above the law and people think this is right? Some sort of revolution needs to happen. Lets see how far the Wall Street protests escalate.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

Its also interesting to point out that until recently both of these actors, like Michael J. Fox looked just like they did when they were kids! And I see the horse on the front bumper so it must be one!!!!!
