Nice. These guys make quality games.

It's just that simple.

Good move, Double Fine should be on the list, too.

I hope they didn't buy them to be Kinect only...

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I doubt they're going to be Kinect only. I read something from them a while back and they seem a bit like Nintendo. They make whatever interests them. Their first game, The Maw, was supposed to be a WiiWare title but something changed in their relationship with Nintendo before it was complete. They went to Xbox and released that awesome platformer. Next up was Splosion Man. It was supposed to be a Capcom published title but, again, something changed and so they went with XBL. Another awesome game was created. Comic Jumper (their weakest game so far) was hilarious and epic, too. And finally, the Gunstringer was just an idea they had and felt like Kinect was the right platform for it (though they wanted it to be a downloadable title).

From the thing I read (I think it was Game Informer a couple of months ago), the guys just come up with off the wall concepts, input their trademark sense of humor, and make a tight playing game. Hopefully, Microsoft won't lean on them too much. If these guys can continue to make the kinds of games they think they should be making, without restrictions (ie: "Make us a Kinect game." "Make us a Kart Racing game.") and they finally get the kind of budget they deserve, then there's some good times ahead for Xbox owners.

Nsanity's new avatara doesn't suit him.

lol way to stay on topic .. I do agree though.

OT: Woo! Good news, This means better quality and bigger games from TP.

That is hopefully true, buying them after Gunstringer but not after splosion man or the Keflings makes it almost obvious that they will
going to make Kinect games;..it is because I lvoe Rare's Kinect game so much..

Keflings?! I don't think that was TP, in fact I'm pretty sure it wasn't ..

Edit - Oops beaten, thought so.

Yeah somehow I always thought they were the same.

Awesome. Twisted Pixel has solid and consistant output.

With Microsoft's trainwreck history with developer studios....

I'm not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.

What do you mean 'what are you talking about'?

Clearly Microsoft has shown that they are utterly clueless and incompetent when it comes to managing dev studios.

I mean, they closed ENSEMBLE....shuttered DIGITAL ANVIL, broke down FASA, and killed ACES.

Look at what RARE has become under the watch of Microsoft....poor Rare....they were so elite, and now they are just a poor shell of themselves.

Bungie, Microsoft's best studio, apparently not happy with Microsoft, or at least not happy enough to stay....they jumped on the first thing smoking ASAP....Good for them at this point.

Microsoft's ineptitude and lack of management skills with developer studios is pretty clear at this point.  I fear for Twisted Pixel because they are a small, yet creative dev house, who stand to potentially get destoyed by Microsoft's mismanagement.  I certainly don't want that.
