Forums - Gaming - Mass Effect 3 will have multiplayer element

Damn people, wait until we see more info before drawing such conclusions. For all we know, which is nothing, the single-player could be better than ME2 & ME1 WITH a co-op mode.

Of course, I'm not saying this is necessarily a good idea, I'm just saying wait for more info. I'm sure the singleplayer will be great though.

This, i never got the hate for adding elements to a game. Some swear that adding multi to a game will hurt it. Can someone show me evidence of that?? DS2 hohum MP didnt hurt its single player. Uncharted2's multi didnt hurt its SP, it was better than the original. Bioshock2 same. AC Brotherhood. NSMBWii, hell Sonic 2 introduced its MP all those years ago and it didnt hurt the game

I'm actually looking forward to this!!!

I'm really interested in the game but couldn't think why I'd want to play a co-op mission or even fathom why I'd want to compete against others in a competitive multiplayer. I don't see what it would it bring to this single player RPG?

Hmm, pie.

I think having some NPC backstory missions where you can play Co-op would be great. Main story doesn't really suit co-op. Unlike RPGs like Icewindale and Neverwinter Nights where Co-op is brilliant.

But then again Co-op is all about playing your favourite game with someone. So even a full campaign Co-op would get my approval, because I'd love to play a game like this with someone. However they'd need to design some fire fights that require a more tactical approach so that you can discuss stuff with your buddy abotu how to handle the battle. I just found with ME2 that I could more or less camp, clear out, advance, camp clear out advance for most of the missions. I rarely had to actually manage the placement of the other squad members.

I'd prefer to see an increase in mission squad members from 3 to 5 and, like in Dragon Age, allow the player to take direct control of squad members, so the player can properly micro-manage battles. In those sorts of set ups co-op gameplay is lots of fun.

Co-op yes, Kinect option for 360 yes but no to a tacked on multi-player mode. There is rumour that a Mass effect MMORPG is in the pipeline. EA have a habit of milking franchises.
