I dunno, but OP seriously needs to update the standings lol.  And the 'Hawks are kicking butt and taking names indeed, and hopefully my Rangers can keep it up too... can't wait for the Winter Classic, so psyched!

BTW, have you (or anyone else reading this thread for that matter) seen HBO's 24/7 special on the lead up to the Rangers-Flyers Winter Classic?  I love this show!  Last year's Pens-Caps special was great, and this one's even better so far.  This and last year's Hard Knocks with the Jets are the best sports shows I've seen in a while.

I have not seen the special.  Is it on HBO?  I love the Winter Classic and think that it's great that it has become annual thing.  I would watch ANY two hockey teams playing outdoors.  Are you listening NHL?

The Hawks are doing well because they are going with Ray Emery and not Cory Crawford in net.  Crawford was great when he fighting for the starting job , but has struggled since he has was awarded it.  Anyway, go with the hot hand.  That's what I say.

Yeah but you can watch it on NHL's main site (I think) a few days after it first airs (which is every Wedesday night from now until the week after the game is played), or you can just do what I did and watch it on YouTube with all the f-bombs intact lol.

But my main reason for coming here is, the avs have won every shot out they have been in which has been quite a bit. If only they could get a top line goaltender they would have the defense and offense to get near the top of the division. As for now, I am almost at the point I want them to not do that great so they can draft high again, but the season still has a long ways to go. My other main thought on the team at the moment is that coach Joe Sacco needs to be fired. The blues really turned their team around by changing coaches and I think the avs need a change.

Dude, I put in effort in the beggining. I posted a link to the thread on many members walls. I tried to talk about as many teams as possible and be positive towards most teams. I asked the now missing in action trashyouupdister12 to help me get it going (which he did, a good man). I tried to make amusing eye catching subtitles which sometimes worked. But frankly, I think the only sports threads that can have big threads on here with the site being as slow as it currently  are football and soccer threads and maybe nba threads. Hockey is just not that popular. It also does not help that skyrim came out and that I am more interested in football at the moment. Thanks for your support though I will occassionally post.

It also doesn't help that for people like me, we may not have time to catch the games. I've missed most of the Aves games alone, nevermind other games this year just because I don't have time. Football is easier for me to follow with the free time I have during the semester. Granted, I do have more time now over the holidays, and I hope to catch some hockey games (I believe there's an Aves game tonight).

I agree as it is easy too follow all football games when each team plays once a week. This also makes the prediction game work in the NFL as hockey has so many games and would be impossible to have a prediction league for it on this small of a forum.  Also, I tried watching many teams early on as I was very excited, but eventually it became too much with my own schedule and I could only follow the avs.
