Good! PC gaming is dead. PS4/720 will be perfected PS3/360s, which will put it comfortably ahead of PCs. PC will only ever be ahead in graphics, and sometimes not by far (Uncharted 3). After next gen, streaming is the future.

I'm very serious, PC gaming's dead! Or atleast dying.

I wouldn't say since 1985, but recently.

The only thing that's dying is this rhetoric.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

And PC gaming.

No offense, but people have been claiming PC gaming has been dying since before you even knew what a PC was.

It's about time he admitted it. These days it doesn't make sense to release a PC-exclusive or develop multiplatform titles with PC as the lead.(just look at Battlefied 3s messy beta on consoles)

No, PC gaming isn't dead but consoles take priority now. In the future there will be less and less PC-exclusive devs. I"m just waiting for Blizzard to make the jump.....

Nope, just the rhetoric. And DD sales (Steam) prove it.

Okay... Why would that cause offense? PC Gaming has started to die recently IMO. Sales suck in comparison to consoles and PS4/720 will do anything a PC can do and more apart from some games with better graphics. And then after next gen streaming will probably become the standard and there won't be much need for the latest GPUs.

I kinda agree here

Good!

PC gaming has a lot of implicit advantages over console gaming, many of which are related to the ability of developers to be more "demanding" on their users ...

The "perfect" example of this is with MMORPGs, they are released (mostly) for the PC because you can charge a monthly fee for them and force people to download gigantic patches for them; and if people complain about the poor performance when you get too many users on screen, or that the game is taking up too much hard-disc space you can simply tell them to upgrade. As a result of this you have a gaming experience that has only been done well on the PC, and it is unlikely that it will translate well to consoles ATM.

The long term problem PC gaming faces is that many of these demands becomes less and less of an issue for consoles every year. Hardware is getting so powerful there is little need for people to upgrade, consoles have adequate storage for practically everything, and (in the not too distant future) console manufacturers will probably open up their online services to allow for some form of pay-per-use system.
