Wow, surprised Xbox closed that gap so much. Doubtful that they'll actually pull it ahead but it's certainly in the realm of possibility with one more week to announce.

Meanwhile, 3DS is already a million ahead of THAT...

Some people would argue that it's multi-plats that are far more important to a console, maybe its the alcohol but I struggle how people can use exclusives and Japan as the only reason the PS3 has sold as well as it has, it would be like people claiming the only reason the 360 is doing well is because of the dominance of the single biggest market in the world and also having kinect,one of the fastest selling electronic devices ever and then claiming if it was reversed PS3 would stomp the 360, ifs and buts.

PS3 sucks in America. Sony is still paying for effing up the PS3's early years in the US (stupid price, a year late, horrible design that developers still loathe)

what if xbox never had america? even if it had a 10 year headstart it would be behind now without america. or what if the ps3 laucnhed same time as 360 at same price, where would 360 be now. see theres no point of IFS cause they can go on forever and they're stupid.

Are you even kidding me? Yep lets just say the the biggest gaming market in the world doesn't exist and then PS3 WOULD BE WINNERZ! Who even gives a crap what console wins, both are over 50 million and are HIGHLY successful consoles if you look at past console sales.

Wow, these overall 2011 sales look to be nearly identical by year's end. Pretty much every X360 > PS3 and PS3 > X360 argument can go out the window since they've both been equally as successful. Each console does just as many things well in their own way, which is why the same number of purchases were made this year. Trying to rationalize a "winner" one way or the other just makes a person look silly... Proof:
