you do know he lives in Japan and goes to store while you are only reading stuff on the net, right? No one is downplaying the success of DS but it doesn't mean that anyone can overblow its success.

you do realize the number of shops he can visit as a single person is limited hence why we don't give a crap about anectodal evidence right? there's a reason why we take official reports of tracking agencies etc over forum users.if there have been shortages in these weeks that are affecting DQ legs I would like to see an official source claim it. I didn't mention anything about DS. I've never played the first one, so I don't bother to check for the second one. My friend did offer to let me borrow his copy of Demon's Souls though (he's busy playing Dark Souls ;-p ).

I'm looking at buying the DQ collection myself which is why I've been looking for it at stores I visit. Now it's generally in stock (it was sold out at one store I went to yesterday) and I'm just trying to find the "lowest" price I can for it.

There is no official report of Dark Soul being sold out in the second week which is what you were claiming why the number is low. So if you are saying Source is trying to downplay the success for DS, you are exagerrating its success by saying it's sold out when it was not.

Dark Soul is selling extremely well but the fact is the low number sold for the second week (89% decline form first week) is not a result of no stock in the store.

iirc the official reports came in about the first week..saying around 90% sold through...it's doesn't take a genius to realize that will affect second week sales.

and look above, smbu already explained it. hence why anectodal evidence = absolutely nothing. pretty much proved why i asked for something more legit in the first place. he didn't seem to mind it either because it wasn't an 'attack' on him or anything lol

ugh it's not just me who said 'source' is trying to downplay it...many did and we had various reasons for it. seece had to edit the preview to remove the bait also. I don't have to exaggarate about DS success at all! and i never said xxx is def the reason for the sales...i meant it definitely could have affected the legs. the possibility IS there. nothing controversial here.and i'm not basing my comment on any anectodal evidence either.

DS is an EXTREMELY hard game....and a much newer IP...the success has been nothing less than outstanding.
