@Amp Mike Shanahan was fired because he refused to give up his position as General Manager of the team and to stay on as only the head coach. It was not just because of his failures to get the Broncos into the playoffs. He was great friends with the Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and had just built the biggest house in a suburb of the Denver metro area right next door to Pat Bowlen. Just had to clear that up.

The comeback was pretty impressive, I have to admit. Regardless of the major mistakes made by both teams (especially Miami that allowed it), it's not often that I've seen a game that exciting at the very end. Of course, the first 55 minutes were completely boring...

At least Telbow did pretty well in the last few minutes. Then again, Telbow was a huge reason why we needed the comeback in the first place. It's a shame; I think the guy has a lot of potential, but he's just not there yet. He needs a lot of practice. Especially when it comes to throwing the ball. There were so many passes where I just cringed because he missed by such a huge margin.

@chocoloco; I agree that McDaniels really screwed up the team. I was surprised that the Broncos started off at 6-0 in his first season, because it seemed like we won all of those games by some fluke. Then last season happened and proved me right. But I'm still cheering for the Broncos. I can't help it. I'm a die-hard Colorado sports fan. Even the Rockies (how about that 2007 choke in the World Series?!).

Tebow looked reall bad against the Lions, but the loss is certainly not all his fault as the defense is also one of the worst in in the NFL. With time I expect he will improve and still think he has potential to be a star. That may be a couple years down the road, but as John Lynch said (former Bronco now announcer) said during the game the lions have quickly gone from a trashy team to a potential super bowl champion very quickly. These kinds of things happen all the time. I always follow the Broncs even if they suck and it is ggreat the city and state still do too.

Yeah, I watched the Rookies that playoff year (as I am not even close to a baseball fan). That was exciting, but I knew they had no chance against the RED Sox. It will be interesting to see if they ever become really good. Watch the Nuggets more mostly in the playoffs, but the Avalanche and the Broncos are my favorite teams by far.

No, it's not all his fault. It's not even just the defense. The offense is terrible too. With McGahee out, our best runner was pretty much... Telbow. And throwing the ball? Telbow has accuracy issues, yeah, but he's not being protected very well either. What was it, seven sacks again? Sure, some were his fault. Maybe even the majority. He's got a lot to learn, and he better learn fast. But for the rest, everything just fell apart around him before he had time to do anything. And then when he actualy threw the ball, the recievers would constantly drop it. And with the offense going three and out so many times, the defense is being run ragged trying to stop the other team. Really, the team is just all around awful.

@Vetteman94

Saying Telbow is a joke is harsh. He may not ever be a great QB, but I think he does have potential. If he can learn how to make better calls during plays, and increase his accuracy, he'd be pretty good. Right now though? Yeah, he does have a lot of room for improvement. The reason why he's so controversial is because half the world thinks he's the second coming of Christ, and the other half hates him because the first half loves him and they don't understand why. He's got a lot of unfair expectations placed on him from people expecting him to be the next John Elway. The lockout probably didn't help him improve any either.

And as for Orton and Quinn, I feel bad for them. They're getting screwed over because everyone wants Telbow. Orton may not be great, but he has shown that he can be pretty good (barring this season). When he was doing well last season, people didn't even want him to play. Which is a shame, because he was out there doing his best, and doing pretty darn well. (The fact that we did so horribly pretty much comes from McDaniels. He really screwed the team over.) That probably didn't make him feel very good. And Quinn just hasn't ever gotten a shot to play at all.

With the team seeming all around horrible do you still plan on watching tommorow and the rest of the season?

Yeah. I grew up with the glory days of the Broncos. I'm pretty sure I'll always be a Broncos fan, regardless of how bad they get. Just like I'll always be a Rockies fan, even though they've sucked for most of their existence. And an Aves fan, though they actually aren't doing horribly this season. Besides, I still have fun watching the games even if we lose.

Week 9 has some interesting games, moreso than previous weeks. Not sure who plays at home in all cases, but these are the games:

Steelers vs. Ravens, Bills, vs. Jets, Bears vs. Eagles, Packers vs. Chargers, Patriots vs. Giants.

All of these teams have a positive record with the exception of the Eagles, but they have been gearing up lately. Much better than last week's schedule when all of the early games (seven, I think) had at least one team with a negative record. Well, the Saints managed to lose anyway and the Ravens almost.

I expect the Pack's passing game to shred the Chargers, in order for the controversy around Philip Rivers to continue for one more week. I get the feeling though that Chargers RBs may gash Green Bays, despite all their injuries. The Chargers should win next week and Rivers will probably make a turnaround barring an injury (which he is probably masking right now.)

Steelers are building momentum, and should beat the Ravens by 10 points. Bills will get a whoopin from the Jets;Fitzpatrick is coming down to earth and I feel sorry for anyone residing on Revis Island in this game. Jets D is too good for Bills O to stop.

Eagles vs. Bears should be a shootout....if it happened 3 weeks ago. The Eagles D seems to have tightened things up, and I only see Philly losing if there are turnovers on their end. Nnamdi Asomugha will make life difficult for Jay Cutler, so Matt Forte's performance is crucial.

I also see the Giants beating the Patriots in the upset of the Week. The hype will be concerning a Super Bowl rematch of sorts, and I feel the Pats will once again underestimate the Giants. In order to win, the Pats have to abuse the running game, but with their backfield being so confusing, I'm not sure they will use who they have effectively. Who knows the roles of each man back there (Faulk, Green-Ellis, Ridley, etc).

A quick question that is redundant by tomorrow evening:

What's the state of daylight saving time in the USA, is it still going?

Yes the US daylight savings time changes on the first Sunday of every November.

Does that mean it changes in a couple of hours? That would bring the kickoff times for the NFL back in line with the usual times in Europe.

Yep, I don't know if it changes by time zone or if they wait until the pacific time zone reaches midnight. I usually forget about it and miss things. If it changes by time zone, two of the four major US time zones have already changed.

Hoping the raiders and Broncos are as physical and argumentative as last meeting because the Raiders got way more penalties as a result. It almost seemed like fights might break out, great stuff to watch. Raiders barely won the last game so I suspect the Broncs have a chance.

Also screw Oakland.

A chance is certainly there. After all, the Raiders suffered a shutout in their last game along with six interceptions.

Haha, I see it as a battle of which team screws up the least.

Funny this thread has so much Broncos talk as of late when they are a bad team.
