@Amp Mike Shanahan was fired because he refused to give up his position as General Manager of the team and to stay on as only the head coach. It was not just because of his failures to get the Broncos into the playoffs. He was great friends with the Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and had just built the biggest house in a suburb of the Denver metro area right next door to Pat Bowlen. Just had to clear that up.
