IDK PS3 game are so damn expensive and I could 2 kill birds with one GPU

thats right your not in America are you lol.

save your money so you can get games for a PS3, and wht ever cards you need for your PC.

Yea even if I go for inport copies (much cheaper than NZ prices) for new games prices this is the difference between PC and Console games

http://www.nzgameshop.com/pc-games/rage-anarchy-edition-game-pc

http://www.nzgameshop.com/ps3-games/rage-anarchy-edition-game-ps3

And I would get a better experiance on PC even with my current setup...

So I would probably get mostly seccond hand older PS3 games I couldn't get on PC

ok sounds great. games are expensive!

A Ps3 is dirty cheap, go for that one. Then upgrade to a next-gen GPU in Spring 2011.

even a seccond hand PS3 is likely to be more expensive than the card, and I am still not convinced of AMDs next gen cards they seem to be focusing to much on GPGPU stuff like Nvidia did with Femi and with the delayed 28nm proccess even if they hit this year they will likely be in short supply anyway AMD have already delayed their 28nm APU and Nvidia have delayed their next cards to "late Q1" (and that is the top end enthusiest cards so even if they do hit on the new schedual cards in my price range probably won't hit until late Q3 at this rate) plus strong rumours suggest that the HD7xxx has also been pushed to early Q1 2012 and will be leading with high end parts.

And as cool as it would be to have a card codenamed after my country I am not going to be able to afford a dual GPU card... (which will likely not launch until Q2)

if youre totally into PC gaming and preferred it until now, go with the graphics card.
If there are, however, games on PS3 you REALLY want to play, go for the PS3.

the prices youve listed  are actually pretty high, ever thought about importing from the US?.. the Console would be around 324$nz (excluding shipping), the card 240$. (Excluding shipping)  (Edit; Importing from Canada might be even cheaper, sparing you another 10 bucks)

.. dunno if there are any adittional taxes to you though when you import. =( (Here in germany, if i import something, i normally had to pay a tax of 19%, i can prevent it however, if the ebayseller is willing to write on it that it'd be a gift lol. =))

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!

THERE you have it bro ! :D and those 2 franchises are only one part of the greatness of playstation!

I changed to ps3 2 years ago, only played on pc till then. AND WOW I felt like I've been missing out so many unbelievable great games!

!!God of War and Uncharted best example!!

With a new ps3 you get the full package! I would definately go for it, play all games, never worry about graphics :) (especially with the ps3 exclusives)

(oh and if you enter Uncharted multiplayer....you will experience a really great community)

The thing is that there is no way the PS3 will disappoint you, and by the sound of things the card actually might do just that. Also, PS3 games get marked down significantly 2-3 months after release (I just picked up Dragon Age 2 for 1/3 the original price). Plus you get a media hub so you can access your pc from your tv, bluray player etc. Kinda depends if you have a nice home theatre setup too since a big ass tv and 7.2 srs is unbeatable imo.

Of course, I am biased here since I love my PS3 so much.

If you are really into spectacular graphics then I would rather say stick with your PC. So if you get a just by seeing jaggies then its not really worth it.

Anyways, opinions are opinions...

hmm I might have to look into ordering from overseas, I just have to find somewhere that ships internationally and work out if it's worth it after the added shipping (the GPU I was looking at has free shipping) and money changing fees.

As much as i would like to play several games on PC that I can't get for PC i am tottally into PC gaming and have lived until now without a PS3 so another year won't kill me given how many games are coming out with the indie boom GOG and Steam sales there are more PC games than I have time or money anyway, having said that it would be nice to get some different style games that I have missed out on in the last 6-7 years without a current console.

As I don't have an HD TV the PS3 would be pluged into my 24in 1080p monitor and some cheap headphones lol. And I could pick up the superior PC verson of DA2 for less than 1/3 of the origonal PS3 version price any time I want...

Graphics aren't that important to me I spend most of my time playing games like Minecraft, Binding of Isaac and other indie games but if you can have better graphics why not? Playing games like the Witcher 2 in full 1080p is amzing and with a 560 ti I could do it at 60fps, and Batman: AC with PhysX and DX11 is sure to be god like.

And why do you think the new GPU would dissapoint me if you don't mind me asking.

Well, I was tempted to say "You are an idiot".

But then I think I really liked the "Just get a new card for your bros for birthday cmas". That would be the best gift in the world for them. Then, you could reward yourself with a 2nd hand PS3 shortly after cmas and play some games you missed out on (2nd hand of course). I buy most of my stuff 2nd hand. ;B

that's why the option is there

Also the card i would by for my bros would be a worse card than i have now so they would prefer I got a new card for myself lol
