It's one thing to put spoilers of the beginning of a game in the actually but it's another to post spoilers in giant bold letters in the headline.

I go through my usually morning routine of reading gaming blogs and start with Kotaku today.  Right at the top in giant bold letters I see this story (spoilers in the link itself) and I get generally pissed off.  It's not like it's ruining the ending of the game, but don't put freaking giant reveals in the headline and in the picture header for the story assholes!

So I'm generally pissed off and I leave Kotaku.  I go over to Destructoid and what do I see?  Another story with the spoiler right in the headline (though this one not nearly as bad).  Well gaming blogs can just screw off today, I guess I just won't read up on news.

If you read a preview, you know you're going to spoil the beginning of the game but that's your fault for reading the preview, there's not much I can do about reading the headline to a story.

Well I am going to come the conclusion that their logic is that it is in the first act, therefore not important.

Wow that was bad. I hate spoilers. It sucked when Todd Howard and the maker of Minecraft in an interview spoiled the ending of Red Dead Redemption (indirectly they spoiled it by giving too much info so I could figure it out).

I must admit I've noticed this as well. It's come to the point whereby if I'm scanning headlines and I see 'Batman' I'll immediately move my attention to another part of the page.

Right, it's only the first act so it's not like it's the end of the game but it's still revealing the big reveal in the first act.  Now when I play the game I know that's coming.  The author of the articles ruined the reveal for everyone visiting the page, not just the ones who choose to read the preview.  It's just incredibly bad form.

This is not related to Batman: AC but something similar just happened to me:

I was listening to Gary Jules' version of Mad World and remembered it was featured in a Gears of War commercial back when I didn't know what Gears was (I just started Gears 1 two weeks ago).

So I had the bright idea to search the ad on youtube. I found it but the second video in my search result was titled like this : "Saddest scene ever when __________ dies in Gears 3."

Me = pissed.

Also, that's like saying this--

Pretend FFVII is set to release next month and a game blogger previews the game.  They let him play up to the point that Aeries is killed and he includes that in the headline.  It's in the first act so it doesn't matter, right?

Kotaku, and the rest of the Gawker network, has really gone downhill in the last few months. They've turned to using yellow journalism tactics to increase their page views.

Yeah, I saw that when I logged in to Facebook today. I was pissed off and immediately removed Kotaku from the pages I like.

I know it is a spoiler and a pretty bad one, but I think they would justify with that. I can't really think of anything besides that.
