Agreed. They really gave it a strong effort, but with no new FF game on the horizon or MGS, Japanese gamers stayed away. They missed out on some quality JRPG's too, but in their eyes why buy a 360 for these smaller or new JRPG franchises when they want the big guns like FF, DQ and MH. Well Japanese publishers weren't willing to commit to those at first, so neither were Japanese gamers.

It annoys me when people try to pin this all on MS. Compared to the Xbox especially, they really did all they could within reason.

u know as much as i hate the 360 ur right. MS gave Japan there all but i think the U.S. sid tracked them and they started thinking that Japan was like every other part of the world or more acrurately the U.S. but they were proven wrong.

i got a PS3 cuase it has an eclectic mix of ip from nearly every genre, and i think thats another reason PS3 was able to fight its way back from a very serious situation.

MS had such an ethnocentric attitude with the original Xbox (thinking that appeal to America = appeal to Rest of World) that it was difficult to reverse. A lot of people still view the console as being for violent bloody games with lots of guns and it's difficult to reverse that image.

their were weeks that X360 was outselling the PS3 in Japan, yes with a lot more effort they could have made it, only they give up because the market is way to small and needs to much effort to conquer.
