uncharted 2 didnt even have 200k pre orders. and it did about 400k in the americas.

it will easily do more that. it might even surpass that in pre orders.

dont be stupid.. its not going to bomb. it is probably the greatest looking game ever made for consoles (next to god of war 3), has a very large install base and is following up from one of the highest rated games of all time. Sony will advertise it heavily and there'll be loads of bundles available for it. sadly it wont outsell MW3 but it will do good numbers. maybe looking at 3.5-4mill+ by the end of the year and 6-7mill lifetime.

Its amazing how angry people got over this thread. Actually its not amazing its very very sad. Too get on your nerves some more since its apparently as easy as posting anything that goes against your "completely unbiased opinion".

The thread starter did make some good points. 

The game is not preordering well. Preorders cannot be compared to Uncharted 2 because uncharted has become a very well known series, so people who want it are preordering it. It should be compared to a well known sony ip. God of War 3 had 350k preorders with 6 weeks left. Uncharted 2 has become more popular in America than EMEAA so it can't automatically be assumed 3's preorders are doing amazing there. Anyone who doesn't believe the preorder chart just needs to check the preorder numbers from any actual online retailer. Uncharted 3 isn't doing well in any of them, so regardless if vgchartz numbers are accurate it is not preordering well at least compared to the competition.

The OPEN beta only got 1.5mil people to try it. If uncharted 2 really was some beyond perfect game it has always been hyped to be, you would think at least half the people who bought it would have at least tried the completely free beta. 

For comparison's sake halo reach, supposedly an overrated  ip in decline, had 2.7mil people play the beta, which required not only halo 3 odst, but also xbox live gold, 

Uncharted 3 will obviously not get the ludicrous scores that uncharted 2 got. Uncharted 3 will no doubt be the biggest ps3 exclusive of the year,  but to get 4mil by years end is a laughable prediction, just like its laughable that it will bomb. It will get great sales but nowhere near many of your expectations. My prediction is 2.8mil by end of the year. 5mil lifetime with some bundling, and not outsell uncharted 2 which should reach 5.5-6mil with holiday bundles over the next two years

lol in just about every recent uncharted thread i've seen you've been writing these essays on how overhyped the game is, how shitty its story is etc... we get it already, you don't like the game theres no need to reiterate it over and over again... 

A lot of people on this site (not talking exclusively to non sony/ps3 fans), will be surprised about how much U3 will sell (when it is all said and done), just saying......

I only say this for 2 basic, FACTS and not opinions

Uncharted 2 September 5 2009 (6 weeks before release) 40,408 pre orders.
Uncharted 3 September 24 2011 (6 weeks before release) 248,658 pre orders

But most importantly, the Uncharted series (and the number of active PS3 users), has grown so much since U2 came out, it is not even funny, And the fact that proves this are the amazing legs this game had, after having a 850k first week. People don´t grasp the fact that Uncharted was not a sure thing before the second game, people liked the first one, but it was not a wow experience. Now there are people saying that they will buy U3 before anything else, do you remember what hype there was for U2.

The hype of U2 was based on videos, that is why a lot of people are not seeing any videos this time around, because last time Naughty dog had to show a lot before release to prove a point.

Now they don´t have anything to prove to a lot of people, and the ones still on the fence, had the chance to experience the beta, and realize that the weakest part on the Uncharted franchise, was a big focus for them (even tho I still have concerns about customization plus incentives to play in the long term, one thing Gears and COD/MW do extremely well), because the amount of multiplayer only players in the PS3 is increasing by the day, and now we see alot of competitive online games in the PS3 platform. There are absolutely no concerns when it come to the fun factor Online, U2 was fun online, only lacking, as I said, reasons to keep playing, other then pure fun.

Don´t get mad about trolls, sales predictions, just play games

i dont believe that many U2 buyers will not buy this one...who in their right mind will think that this is less worth than U2??
and since the PS3 user base is larger... for me this is a no brainier... U3 will sell as much or even more than U2...
i have been wrong before but if i am about this, my hope for the human kind will be lost!
