Forums - Sony - Sony expects "Huge impact" on earnings from slump in Euro.

true luckily sony has merged all there earnings into one because Sony columbia pictures are hugely profitable for them and with ghost busters 3 the new spiderman and men in black 3 next year they will do fine

That sucks. Time to finally get rid of the weak Euro states.

updated: 14.01.2012

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

These forecasts arent for the sony playstation division (not that there is a division any more), they are for Sony Corp - the whole lot combined.

You are way over simplifying the problem Japanese companies face.  A couple of movies isnt going to make that miuch difference if things continue.

yer guess i worded it wrong but it will certianly help

man... it has really been a tough year for Sony with this, the hacking situation, the tsunami in japan...seems sony can't catch a break.

It really affects everybody the thread title is misleading.

I know, i'm just saying that it's just another problem for Sony has to deal with after some already bad situations earlier this year.(Edit: same reply to Kowenicki)

I imagine this slump will be hurting a lot of companies in the near future unless something changes soon.

amen to that... as a Brit I am so proud and happy we managed to keep away from the dogs dinner that is the Euro.

Not that you won't be screwed anyway when the thing bursts.

If only Japan had adopted the Euro Sony wouldn't face this Euro devaluation

:) I know, I know. Keep in mind Nintendo also had a rough start with the 3DS' hurt launch (pricepoint), and MS has had an exclusive software drought this year (safe gears and incoming).

agreed...looks like 2011 has been a tough year for the big 3.

not much more so than the rest of the western world...  we'd be a lot more screwed tied into that abortion of an idea.

The Euro was, and is, one of the most stupid ideas of all time.   Its ill conceived and was purely for political reasons, it was destined to fail.

I don't really think the Euro was a bad idea in general, just how unbelieveably bad it was handled. Countries like Greece and Ireland shouldn't have been included in the Euro-zone from the beginning.  There were sharp requirements for new entries, but they were useless as nobody needed to meet them anyway.
