The guy hasn't had any experience with PS3 software development since launch:

“I heard a lot of horror stories about the PS3 dev tools, and our launch-title devs got absolutely no support from Sony itself when they needed it – up to and including Sony calling one of our developers liars when we said their networking code wasn’t working for our game, and it was a problem with their system,” the source continued.

“I’ve heard Sony has greatly improved their tools support for development and testing,” the source grudgingly conceded, “Though I believe they’re still lagging behind what the Xbox 360 had available at launch.

“I don’t recall Sony PS3 Dev Kits being cheap – our test boxes were something like $10,000 each, and the actual development kits were significantly more – or anything like the Developer Net attached to XBLA allowing anyone to just jump into development with a low overhead cost,” said the source.

Sony's SDK has improved considerably since launch, and the price of their development kits had dropped to $2000 by 2009.

His information is very outdated. Kaz Hirai replacing Ken Kuturagi lead to significant changes in how SCE handles the PS3.

This is getting annoying. There's no way 100% of the people will have the exact same experience with the same company. The fact that all these companies are standing up and saying the obvious is just plain retarded.

Company A loves Sony, while Company B hates Sony. Company A has a consistent relationship with Sony, while Company B has a consistent relationship with Microsoft. Company B finds Sony laughable, Company A wouldn't mind getting bought by Sony. Company C agrees with Company A and thinks Company B is laughable. Company D thinks Company C is just using the limelight created by Company B to get people to notice them and Sony sits there not caring, because they are raking in the profits; while Microsoft is making short work of companies like C and D.
