You probably fought against a Soul Duper or someone who was at a much higher level than you. I fought a SL 110 that dropped 150K souls and my SL 198 character dropped 250K for a forest hunter invader that managed to kill me, even though I only had 30K or so souls with me.

Well, then this is the obvious farming technique, just don't attack alone.

I had so many souls that I was afraid to walk to the blacksmith where the bonfire is, even though there are like 4 of those tree creatures on the way...only.

Indeed it is, I farmed the Forest PVP to go from 150 to 195 and it only took me 3 hours tops (and about 10M souls).

That's a familiar feeling, when you see the soul count reaching 5 or 6 digits and you shitting your pants trying not to lose them XD. On Demon's Souls I went through the extremely bitter experience of losing 3.5M souls on 4-2....I stopped playing it for a week entirely >_<

Well, once this dreaded patch comes out in America I'm going back to Dark Souls, but for now Uncharted 3 it is!

Did your controller survive?

Surprisingly it did, mainly because I dropped it on my lap when it happened to cover my face in rage >_<.

How do I pvp with my friend in this damn game? My friend keeps spamming the red sign on ground, but nothing. It's in the forest area right before crystal caves with me being host. We tried white sign first and I saw it, then we tried the red sign and then nothing, wtf is wrong??

I think quitting and reloading MIGHT work. I try that when I need to summon and it seems to work, It probably connects me to a different server when I reload. You need to be close to your friend's level of course.

So turns out lightning actually isn't gettin a nerf, aside from 1-2 weps that are gettin a very minor hit. Guess that supposed -5% was never actually confirmed :z I found a pretty useful site:

It's updated for 1.04 but I think some of the numbers might be slightly off - I saw someone's Moonlight sword doing 480'ish damage with 50 int in a youtube vid but that site shows it as doing about 460.
