As we all know, Miyamoto said that Twilight Princess would be "the last Zelda game of its kind". The fun part is speculating what he meant by that.

Will we have a change in the timelines? Will it be futuristic? Are they going to deviate from the current formula? Are they going to change it from a 3rd person 'RPG' into another genre?

Oh the possibilities that can come from such a general phrase about such a great franchise really is exhilarating!

That was a COMPLETE rumor. The website that did that interview faked it.

It's amazing how far they've gotten it to go considering it's completely fake.

Then Game Informer Magazine has some explaining to do, as they supportted said 'rumour'.

Could you confirm for me that it's actually a false claim?

Some guy on another forum had tons and tons of really elaborate proof that it was fake.

Some lousy website made it up in a fake interview.

 Lets see here...

I have gaming magazines and websites that have reported on this, and you have... "some guy on another forum" with no links.

By life end:

  • Wii- 100 million+
  • Xbox360- 35~40 million
  • PS3- 30 million
  • PSP- 30~32 million ------------- FAILURE
  • NDS- 85~90 million (Skeptical)  - FAILURE
  • NDS- 100 million+ (Optimistic) -- Success!

I've seen it in magazines as well.

It was all spread from a Zelda fan site who apparently did an interview with Miyamoto, and later admitted no such interview ever happened.

Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

E3 09 they will annouce it for November or early December. Then they delay it till February.

I would much prefer Nintendo to get off their asses and start making new IP's rather than re-hashing tired old ones... I mean the Wii already has a Zelda game! I can honestly see the Wii becoming like the GC library, riddled with numerous Mario and Zelda games and not much else worth noting... I hope that they decide to actually take a chance and make some new games.

Making new Mario and Zelda games all the time is a bit too safe imo, show us what you can do Nintendo, maybe even get me to buy a Wii :P

The funny thing is that the ones complaining about Nintendo milking their franchises are the ones that don't actually play them.

thats cause they are so danm good

I have a wii and galaxy, and i can complain, they do milk their franchises to much, they need at least a few other ideas

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Proud supporter of all 3 console companys

Proud owner of 360wii and DS/psp

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Then you're in luck. Disaster is coming out this year, and probably a few other new IPs from Nintendo. I'm too lazy to do the research right now...

I personally hope for an announcement for sometime this year. I don't know that it will happen, but they will definitely say something next year, if not this year. I don't really care when they announce it, I only care that when I finally get to play it that its a great game, like the rest of the Zelda series.

Soon so then I can start saving for a Wii!! Hope its an overhaul though. As good as they always are they seem familiar story wise. I would like voice acting also. Either way its a certain for me.

Ynwa.

Yes, because Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Brain Training, Wii Sports and Nintendo's other new franchises just don't exist. And Final Fantasy XXX Lost Oddyssey is the most original shit ever, right?

...

As for Zelda, don't be surprised if you don't hear of it until 2009. I don't know what kind of game it will be, but it is sure to make good use of the Wii-remote. Phantom Hourglass will get a sequel - and rightly so - but since Aonuma said the cell-shaded games probably work better on a handheld, I dunno what Zelda Wii will be about. One thing, though; Unless they 'reboot' the series, Ganondorf won't be in it, so don't worry about that. Oh, and I'd expect voice acting (for better or worse), myself.

I think that Zelda Wii will be announced some time this year, hopefully E3, and have a release date sometime in 2010.

Currently Playing: Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Super Smash Bros for Wii U

Predictions:

Super Mario Galaxy will pass Super Mario 64 in total sales CORRECT!
