Did the Wii waste its potential hell yes it did. I've been saying since day one motion controls are fucking retarded.I don't see the point in them. The only motion controlled games I like are the MMA,Football training camp and some fitness games.Honestly motion controls were the reason why I cant stand my Wii.If my Wii didn't have motion controls and if Nintendo focused on acquiring better games and not games that get an average rating of 6/10 with no playability at all.My Wii would probably get more play then my PS3 and 360.Pretty much this is why the Wii got no praise at all from top developers because no one wants to downgrade their game for Nintendo. The Wii isn't next gen the graphics are Xbox graphics.I don't even want to bash the Wii anymore. All im saying is Motion Controls=FAIL! I haven't touched my Wii in about 6months but once Skyward sword comes out that's going to change for the better.

So let me see if I got this straight, motion controls fail but you are looking forward to a game that will use motion controls heavily?? Even requiring the Motion+ addon? The Wii would have been better without motion controls, you would have played it more?? No you wouldnt, you would still have downgraded versions of PS3 and 360 3rd party games, because they would still use the same hardware. Essentially you would just be playing a slightly stronger GC. Its been a while since ive seen a post make no sense at all

Ninty didnt really try that hard either, unless you believe adding waggle in 2d platforms is trying hard

I meant nintendo as the builder of the console not developing. They could have done better as well in terms of innovating with the controls.

hell yeah they could have

Everyone thought Nintendo was going to lose.

Devs spent millions upgrading development tech. for HD machines.

Wii wasn't HD.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

They provided proof of concept games, the Wii Sports Series.

well hell, if we are going to go by that logic (not saying your wrong) then 3rd parties did great for Wii. All they did was make Wii Sports (deca sports) and Fit(EA sports active) clones
