Forums - Nintendo - What should Nintendo invest in with all the money they are making?

They should reaserch and develop more technology.
Holography and more advanced contollers.
They should also invest more in online gaming and anti-piracy.
And please, a 3D pokemon game that is played like the 2d ones.
3d Pokemon MMO would print money.

I would like allocate a little more money for their advertising/marketing division. Right now it's really low. I can't remember how much though.

They need to plan for the next market disruption because they know Sony is going to copy them with the PS4, they need to work on making gaming even more accessible, and changing even how hardcore games are played and on disrupting even the Wii and DS markets.

Hand controls and disengaging from the TV are key, IMO

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

I also say they need to use the money to build a another factory to make Wii fit.

I think two things to invest in: R&D for the next consoles and increase output and quality of 1st party games.

sould be easy for them to find ways to spend.

they should just start on a recruiting mission. should just start grooming two or three new internal development studios.

also, i don't know how well nintendo compensates its employees, but hopefully they start building a reputation as the absolute best gaming company to work for, both in terms of quality and compensation. that would help them recruit talent. to me, that's the most important thing of all.

yeah... those are based on the conservative nature of nintendo.

the Wii is an epidemic.

should probably also start a studio or in the silicon valley... lots of talent there, both in terms of artistic designers and programmers. how to get it started and maintain a high quality is another question...

the Wii is an epidemic.

They should invest their money in cloning technology in the hopes to clone Shigeru Miyamoto!

easy, a time machine and a flying saucer. It would not achieve much, buy the flying saucer would be good way to enter E3.

R&D. And get some great exclusives. I don't think Square-Enix, Capcom or whichever other company is likely to sell themelvs to Nintendo, or any company for that matter, but it's be nice to see some closer ties to important 3rd party developers. Then again, Nintendo has always been known to go after smaller companies and get them to do great things. Retro is just an example of that.

 2008 Predictions:
