Ithink there are some lingering doubts about Kinect's utility in the more traditional game genres. Whereas Move has proved itself very well in the shooter category, and it'll be interesting to see how Move integrates with inFamous 2 in the somewhat more action (but still very much shooter as well) category. I'll be playing inFamous 2 using Move initially. Move also proved itself very well with Heavy Rain (I definitely enjoyed playing it with Move more than using just the DS3). I also thought Move functioned quite well in R.U.S.E. So Move has shown a versatility in many traditional gaming genres that Kinect has yet to do.

Personally I'd quite like to have Kinect, but not so much for gaming. More for voice activations and "touch screen" PC control without getting dirty finger marks on the screen. The rise of tablets and multi-touch smartphones means people are getting into gesture based controls for electronic devices. And there Kinect is a good option for various devices, and better than a touchscreen in many cases. Kinect can also get rid of the keyboard. You just need a stencil outline of a keyboard on the desk and Kinect would be able to see what you're typing . Lots of cool uses for Kinect outside of gaming. I'd even go so far as to say Kinect is wasted on gaming. So hopefully gaming is merely the catalyst which leads to a much broader application of the technology.

woah, how is it that this is the first i heard about that?!?  cool beans.  do you know if it is only going to be for the FoB expansion or will they retrofit it into the existing infamous 2 game?  the article i read made no mention.

Hmmm. Now you're making me doubt my own recollection. I thought I'd read in some article about FoB that the Move integration would include being able to play the full inFamous 2 using Move. A bit like how it was done with Heavy Rain. But maybe not. Will have to do some more research. Or just wait until I have inFamous 2 and download the FoB expansion. Then I'll have first hand knowledge of what's true.

nice to see R3 post 100k. PS3 still performing well. i'd like to see some reviews on WKC2 cause 300k is a surprise to many i'm sure.

Warhammer Spacemarine is doing perfectly. didn't honestly think many would get it but its great to see it doing so well. near 60k on both consoles. i'd like to see PC nubmers for this game.

Halo Reach still in the top20 posting modestly, GOW origins also posting modestly with 58k. first wk., and GT5 proving its still has staying power.

Tales falls like a rock to 53k in its second wk, and Deus ex with 90k with PS360 sells total.

So, when are smartphones going to start to slow down 3DS sales?

Dead Island is still doing great!

Won't be long before Halo Reach is out of the top 40. GT5 beats Halo Reach this week.

Kinect definately works very well as an interface - really when it's about using it that way or for direct input from gestures it shines.  Dance Central and the like are great.  It's okay enough for Kinect sports, etc. but the issue is TBH for the most part you're getting a lesser gaming experience than with the Wii say.

Whichever way you cut it gesturing with an empty hand with more assists to play table tennis vs gesturing with what feels like a bat that gives haptic feedback simply isn't as good - i.e. the issue for me is for a lot of games which are similar on the different motion controllers Kinect while fun is clearly not as good as the other options overall.

I do think it's been way underutilized in terms of using it with a gamepad.  The extra input just seems like it could add a lot but no games have really made much of this - we'll see what Forza 4 and Halo 4 do with it.

Another week of the 360 selling under 1,000 in Japan. Has anyone had any threads talking or asking why this ended up happening with that console?

There were a few I think.  If I remember the general view was that some stores have stopped giving the console as much space on display with some stores dropping it altogether and this was felt to have lowered the baseline sales a bit.

TBH though the drop could easily be random and short term.  The 360 sales are low enough in Japan I could easily see it bobbing above/below 1 K due to demand fluctuations.
