that's why the playstation hardware has always been quite good designed
also the controllers and the psp are examples of sony's design talent for consumer electronics

 He didn't say the DVD was his only problem, he said the noise was. And I have to agree with him.

I do not own a DVD player. I figure with a 360 and a PS3, why would I? I do have a 50' 1080P Sony TV, but in all honesty, from 10 feet away, a BD and a DVD upscaled look so close to the same, that I don't really care what one I use.

I use the PS3 however, because of the noise. If I could only have one console, I would have the PS3 strictly for this reason, the 360 is just to loud when it runs. For games I don't care so much, as the game sound effects are almost alway loud. But for movies, it's unusable in my opinion.

I have a $3000 sound system. Why turn it into a $200 one with device noise?

#1. The Xbox 360's DVD is faster than the PS3s, or any other drive for that matter. At 12x, it creates alot of noise.

#2. You might have an older DVD drive. The first and second generation DVD drives were louder than the newest models (BenQ).

Either way, if the DVD drive is your only complaint about a video game system, I think you have some unresolved issues somewhere :-p

What the **** is a troll post? And i wont get banned for making a judgement that most everybody agrees on cause MS said that the 360 will b quieter but not that much. I'll HOLLA!!!!!!!!! D.

NAHHHH,i still believe the PS3 weighs more than the xbox360.I have picked up both.But they said the xbox360 with the new chip in t would make it run quieter,i would hate to have an old version xbox360!

MrPickles said the 360 with the power adaptor weight about as much as the PS3. I think I would have to agree because that power adaptor along is pretty heavy. Heck, that thing it like a little portable heater too, it alone felt as hot as the top of the 360 or the right side of the 360.

Still, that issue is something that was more talked about at launch. "quick, string your power adaptor up from your ceiling so it doesn't overheat!"

I always thought the sound of my 360 was anoying and well it is. That said it better always be noisy because the one time it quieted down my 360 got rrod. And that's a whole different story.
