Forums - Gaming - Resistance 3 will be the LAST shooter i buy on launch............0_o

I only play shooters with a good single player campaign as I never touch the multiplayer. So Call of Duty aren't worth much to me but I recently played Bioshock and that game is definitely worth every penny. I don't know how long it took me to beat it but it felt long enough and it has some replay value as well. I've bought the sequel and unless it disappoints me chances are I'm going to get Bioshock Infinite on day 1.

The last shooter I payed more than 5$ was Half Life 1 generations box (and i still have cup that came with it ;) )

For the most part, I agree. I tend to get bored of shooters much quicker than other genres. They're nice to play sometimes, but this generation has seen an overload of shooter. That said, I'm still interested in Uncharted 3. After that, Bioshock Infinite will most likely be my next purchase.

im the same on certain games, call of duty and battlefield are the only ones that really last.. i didnt play resistance for online just campaign

I hardly buy many games on launch anyway. Usually I'm either renting or waiting for good deals. Heck, I rented and completed Resistance 3 the weekend after it launched and was kind of glad I didn't buy it for $60. As for deals, a game like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 I bought during Steam's winter sale for $6-7 and it was well worth it.

Besides, with more and more DLC nickel and diming, FPS games trying to be more and more like Call of Duty as well as not being as satisfied with the big games, I'd rather rent or wait for a great deal than buy a game for $50-60. I think Portal 2 was the last $50-60 new game that I bought back in April.

I don’t play that many shooters actually and if I do I usually just complete the main game and not play the MP as I did back in the Golden Eye days. Not that into online play.

But 39 dollars is good for a game I mean think of the developers and how much work, time and money they put in these games.

For us in Sweden we pay about 70-100 dollars or so you guys should be happy you don’t have to pay what we pay.

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

lol you and me are different. I bought CoD4 on launch and got 30 days out of it.

Really depends on the shooter, R3 isn't as addictive as some.

Well I'll be picking up Gears because I love the series. Halo games I'll buy at launch as well.

But a game like Resistance is not worth $60. Its not a strong series as the decline in sales have shown. It takes a great series for me to buy it at launch for any genre.

The only shooters I buy are one's I know I will sink a lot of time into (mostly multiplayer)

All the other ones that I want to try I just rent.

well all the cods after completing campain and sending a little on multiplayer i always trade in

the same goes for resistance, battlefield, crysis 2, socom + killzone, gears

odst and reach i couldnt find myself completing campain, halo 3 i finished in coop

so i guess its not really my genre anymore, deffo rentals and preowned from now on

CEX was giving £30 exchange for R3 with gamestation price promise i got £31 on gift card and just picked up dues ex for £24.99, its brilliant its not a standard shooter much like mass effect style
