4. Monster Hunter is certain for the psv that's why it shouldn't be used as a pro for 3ds, it's just more headstart stuff.

Link?

And even if it did arrive down the line, 3DS having it right away will sell systems and sway some attention away from Vita this holiday in Japan, so yes it's a definite pro for 3DS.

And yes Vita is expensive for a handheld just like 3DS was at $250 and unlike 3DS, Vita won't be able to lower its price that soon if needed.

3DS doesn't have it right away I think people forget how long it's been on the market. Vita isn't expensive for a handheld it's expensive for a handheld that's cheap to make.

Granted MH wasn't a launch game for 3DS, what I'm saying is 3DS will have Tri to combat the Vita's launch in Japan and it will definitely have MH4 next year while there are no plans for any MH on Vita yet, which goes a long way toward swaying buyers to 3DS.

Vita is a very good deal at $250 for what you get, just like the PS3 at $600 was a good deal for what you got too (powerful system and blu-ray player).  The point is a higher price point can keep a system from selling well, even if it's still a good deal.

people lets just wait this holiday...then we will see how the Vita vs 3DS vs iPhone5/smartmachines will pan out!!!

PS3 was only a good deal if you cared about blu ray, which shot the price up atleast 200, as oppossed to psv which is a good deal if you have any interest in handhelds at all and is only 80 dollars more then the 3ds (psp was 100 more and sold better then the ds at first and the ds had a similar head start)

3DS being $80 cheaper with two MH games announced (one releasing this year) will go a long way in Japan, which is the only place Vita will even be available this year.

Incorrect.  PSP and DS launched at the same time in Japan, and PSP only came a few months later than DS in the US.  3DS will have a ten month lead over Vita in all regions, and will have a big lead in install base thanks to MH in Japan, and Mario and Mario Kart in the US.

These don't follow the numbered points listed above, but are merely my own thoughts on the current debate in a numbered fashion.

1) Monster Hunter has not been announced for Vita yet. I listed it as a PRO for 3DS, because there are TWO Monster Hunter games coming out for it within the next year, most likely. One is a port, yes, but the other is a brand new entry into the series. While it may be true that there will eventually be a Monster Hunter released on the Vita, until one is announced, it is an advantage for the 3DS.

2) All systems have a huge support, pretty much, before launch. Whether that support is continued after the system has been released remains to be seen.

3) I thought the phrase of "access to a huge PSN library" included the PSP one, but I rephrased it to include it. Whether or not Sony/other developers go through their own libraries to put their non-digital games on PSN remains to be seen.

3a) Until they either put all/most of the PSP library on PSN, having no option for those with a lot of UMDs is a big CON. I didn't say to put a UMD drive on the Vita; I simply mentioned (if you actually read the whole CON) that no option to either get a digital release of the UMD game, or no UMD peripheral would mean people with a lot of UMD games/movies are left in the dust. I know I wouldn't be too happy to have to buy a game again. In that regard, it's the PSPGo all over again.

4) I believe that the Vita doesn't have a clear system seller like Nintendo does. Let's face it, Mario/Monster Hunter sells, both software and hardware. While games like Uncharted do help push hardware some, it's not nearly on the level like the above games.

1. Sigh I really don't want to do this because it's such a horrible but Call of Duty sells more then Monster Hunter and Vita is getting one of those. Obviously they both have advantages of that but you only listed a single one in favor of the 3DS.

2. PSV still has more.

3. Keyword ENHANCED you didn't mention anywhere that psp games would be suprior on the psv then the psp (second analogue usable)

3a. Still not a con, just less of a plus. Not even the 360 is 100% BC.

4. Again hate to do this but Call of Duty.

1) Call of Duty may sell a lot more than Monster Hunter, but I don't believe it moves systems all that well compared to MH. Also, Monster Hunter 3G and 4 are exclusive to the 3DS, while Call of Duty is available on pretty much all systems. I believe most people will be buying the console version to play at home, rather than buy a portable one for CoD.

2) Not all of the games will likely be released. Games may be cancelled, released and sell poorly, or just downright suck. It might be like the PS2 or Wii; it may be very popular, but you're going to have to wade through some crap to find the gems.

3) My list is not final and I edit it here and there. When I initially wrote the list of PROs and CONs, I simply mentioned the wide assortment of games available on PSN, which I lumped together all the Minis, PSN games and PSP ones.

3a) You don't see a problem with the fact that all PSP physical games will be useless with the Vita? It's considered backwards compatible with PSP games, but only those that are in digital form. I wouldn't be happy to spend $250 on a Vita at launch, then another $100 on a memory card, and even another $100 to get downloadable versions of 5-10 PSP games that I own UMDs of.

4) Nintendo's first party titles clearly sell a lot, especially Mario and Pokemon. While I don't recall any announcement of a Pokemon for the 3DS yet, there are two Mario titles coming out in the fall/winter. Compared to those kinds of Nintendo titles, Sony's first party ones don't sell as much (some do have great legs).

PSV is still alot more worth it then 3DS, I don't think the price matters much with the difference in quality.

Really my bad, I read it launched in march somewhere, probably the EU version or something. 3DS kinda blow it's chance with the lead by not having any decent games for the longest time.

1. Monster Hunter is on basically everything too what makes you so sure people will get a 3ds for it? Seems to me you are just picking and choosing to make 3ds have more pros.

2. I don't think you realize just how much more psv has, it has 153+ compared to 3ds 68ish

3. Again you didn't mention that the psp games would be enhanced.

3. a. No most systems aren't 100% BC, ps2 wasn't, 360 isn't.

4. Again Call of Duty sells more if you are just going on sales.

This phrase pretty much settles it.

You are bias and never really wanted to make a fair comparisson.

PSV has 2 analouges a way better screen, back track pad, more ram, more processing power and a load of other hardware features over 3DS and you think they are the same quality? 250 was overpriced for the 3ds it isn't for the psv, with the price cut they are on even ground.

Okay, I give up.

Just because for you dual screens or 3D don't account for anything, it doesn't mean other people don't care about them.

Hardware in Vita is indeed superior, but honestly, looking at the current announced line-up (not some worthless dev team number) I'd rather have a 3DS any day.
