FFX isn't a remake. IT's a HD update just like A LOT of these games this gen. It's 10 year anniversary.

Learn some things about VG before posting crap.

FFVII remake would be a massive budget investment. This HD update of FFX is probably being made by about 5 people in a basement.

Agreed. besides FF7 has had; Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, Before Crisis, etc. and FF7 has been rereleased on the PSN to monumental sucess. so no i dont think SE have ignored FF7 fans. if anything they have prioritised FF7 fans above others.

FF10 is a rerelease, like FF7, 8 and 9 have been rereleased on the PSN, only it will come with HD support and more likely than not trophies and 3D. their not remaking anything.

besides i've heard Square say that the FF7 compilation will finish on the 20th aniversary of FF7. so i would expect a remkae at that time. not that i want want anyway.

hello there A230D

I want them to make FFIX adventures, with zidane being king! or zidane and garnet getting a divorce after they get married. or IDK. Or Steiner and Beatrix. OMG that would be awesome.

I just hope square gives us the FFVII remake before 2018. -_-

Tbh i dont think Zidane would become king. haha. but if they ever did anything with that game i would like to see a spin off set on Terra. perhaps during the time the party are stranded there over a year passes (i know its not really a year in the game though). and during that time they uncover various secrets about the world, etc).

if i'm being honest  i dont really want them to do anything with FF9. its fine as it is. move on and make something else. thats my feeling on FF7. i dont really think some of these projects have been benefical, like Dirge of Cerberus. and i think the remake will come on the 20th aniversary. and i think a remake is fine, but i think its time to do something else until then.

the FF10 remastering will be welcome though, imagine seeing that Zanarkand sunset in HD on a full screen, not the black bars we had in PAL regions. or that moment when you stand in Zanarkand looking out into outer space. so i think in this case, if they can do it will an already existing game, its definitly worth it.

They really should release FFX, FFX-2, and FFXII. Altogether, that's what I'm a bit more upset about (but not really) . Or atleast FFXII because all they have to do that is upscale as it's already in widescreen. They're doing it with kingdom hearts. And Konami's doing it with metal gear.

i agree with you on some level. but Metal Gear/God of War/Ico, etc all those rereleases are about 30 hours (each collection). FF10 alone is over 100 hours. and thats not taking into account multiple playthroughs. or even the international content.

personally i think they should release FF10-2 with FF10 in one collection, since i think releasing FF10-2 seperately isnt really worth it, and it gives people who didnt fancy picking up the sequel at the time a reason to pick up both at the same time.

FF12, i can understand why its not going to be released with those games. its 200 hours long. and even then you could maybe get another 50 hours out of it. in that one game your getting the content of like 6 collections, hahaha!!

however personally i think FF12 is the one that needs the HD update most, since it uses less polygons than FF10, but the team used better lighting techniques and textures to create the illusion of more detail. i recently tried to play it on my 32" tv and you can see that its aged. it still looks very good though.

have you played any new games recently. i recently picked up Yakuza 4, but i have no time to play it. i'm planning to get Dark Souls and maybe Ico Collection before the year is out. i'm looking foward to this DmC reboot as well to be honest. and of course Tales of Graces F, when it finally gets here!

Yes, as you know I'm one of the few few who loves FFX-2. But I'd certainly admit that I don't think most people wouldn't that buy itself.

As for final fantasy XII, if you play it on a PC emulator. The pixelating (or whatever it is) isn't so crappy. But It would certainly benefit. What makes FFXII so impressive though(technically atleast fo rits time), is that it managed to look as good as it did with so many enemies on screen on the ps2.

Maybe SE just realizes that FFVII isn't the end-all be-all of the series? I'd lump it in the same mediocre category as FFX...

Also, making an HD-ified version of a PS2 game is *much* easier than doing it to a PS1 game so it kind of makes sense.  Would SE take a lot of time and effort to make an HD FFVII to make a lot of money or would they rather take a little effort to make an HD FFX and make a lot of money?

It's much easier to 'remake' FFX than it would for FFVII. The amount of time and resources required are so incredibly different, you can't really compare. Now, why they aren't including X-2 or XII in this is the real question.

Final Fantasy VII doesn't need a remake. It's still an awesome game and if you can't get past the dated graphics well it's your loss.
