And where I sound selfishly entitled, you sound full of yourself.  Glad you could fill in the uneducated on what is "ruining gaming."  And personally, I don't really care how many COD or Guitar Hero's come out.  I'm not into those games, but if a company keeps getting sales from them, by all means, keep making them.  Maybe people will get bored of them, maybe they won't.  Again, it doesn't really get me riled up.

Of course, in my oh so humble opinion, it's companies not listening to their fans that is ruining gaming.  You think fans of FF wanted the linearity and lack of choice that the recent FF games have become?  Nope.  And sales show that.  Sure, 6 million (which was greatly helped by the FF name and it being the first HD FF) isn't anything to sneeze at, but when compared to FF7's 10 million it doesn't seem so hot.  Not when they spent extra time and money on porting it to 2 consoles to try to rake in even more money.  Yet, even with how repetitive people complain COD's are, they sell as well or better each time, because they are giving fans of the series what they want.  Regardless, of whether some gamers like that or not.

You can be patronizing all you want, that doesn't change the fact that I'm not wrong.

In your opinion, you're not wrong.  But, in my opinion, I'm not wrong.  Let's just leave it at that.

Isn't it the opposite???

Square Enix cares waayyy too much about FF7 and are worried about disappointing them. Seriously. Anything FF7 will be under intense scrutiny. Everyone will compare it to memories of the past. Expectations are going to be unrealistic. Who wants that pressure??

For you to demand something from a dev means you're not really a fan. Let them be and let them do what they want. At the very least make your requests in a less forceful manner. Must be hell having fans like you.

FFX isn't a remake. IT's a HD update just like A LOT of these games this gen. It's 10 year anniversary.

Learn some things about VG before posting crap.

FFVII remake would be a massive budget investment. This HD update of FFX is probably being made by about 5 people in a basement.

Agreed. besides FF7 has had; Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, Before Crisis, etc. and FF7 has been rereleased on the PSN to monumental sucess. so no i dont think SE have ignored FF7 fans. if anything they have prioritised FF7 fans above others.

FF10 is a rerelease, like FF7, 8 and 9 have been rereleased on the PSN, only it will come with HD support and more likely than not trophies and 3D. their not remaking anything.

besides i've heard Square say that the FF7 compilation will finish on the 20th aniversary of FF7. so i would expect a remkae at that time. not that i want want anyway.

So Final Fantasy X get a HD port and sequel (Final Fantasy X-2). While Final Fantasy VII gets a prequel (Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core), a mobile phone game (Before Crisis), a movie a (Final Fantasy Advent Children), with an extended version of Advent Children, and a third person shooter starting Vincent Valentine ( Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Cerberus). So compare Final Fantasy X to Final Fantasy VII you obvious think Square Enix care more about Final Fantasy X more than Final Fantasy VII. My last point is this Final Fantasy VII remake is getting out of hand because a tech demo release in 2006 to show what the next installment of Final Fantasy would look like on the Playstation 3.

I read the opening post in this thread every now and then just to get a laugh. So many logical fallacies on display here.

So wait, the only reason you see they couldn't do it is because it would be a massive budget investment?  Well then, I guess every company should just stop making new video games all together.  I mean the cost to produce them is only going up, that's just too much of a risk.  We need to keep to just simple $2 games that last maybe a couple of hours before you grow tired of them.
